Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘s 1.04 update is rolling out. According to Reddit user Agile-Veterinarian58, the gameplay feels noticeably quicker after the update.
Ubisoft has not released the official patch notes for the 1.04 update as of yet. But the game upon opening up after the update shows a prompt to view patch notes. According to that, the major gameplay fixes as part of AC Mirage’s 1.04 update include:
- Elevators don’t kill Basim.
- Shards are now properly awarded.
- End-game rewards are now properly awarded after finishing the game.
- Enemies now take proper fall damage.
- Auto loot skill now works properly regardless of how the enemy is killed.
- Players will not lose control of Basim after fast traveling.
- Fixes for sand sword, dagger, and outfit.
Besides, it mentions various quest fixes, and performance/animation improvements. According to our assumption, some undocumented change in the latter category might have made the gameplay feel significantly quicker after the update.
The 1.04 update has sparked varied player reactions as seen in the Reddit post. While some players praised the patch for enhancing gameplay speed and smoothness, others have voiced concerns about an uptick in frame drops and screen tearing.
Unfortunately, the persistent chromatic aberration issue remains unaddressed, leaving certain players dissatisfied.
Ubisoft Will Include A Much-needed Chromatic Aberration Toggle In Future Update
In a recent tweet from Ubisoft, it was mentioned that an upcoming update will provide players with the ability to toggle chromatic aberration on and off as a feature.
This was after frustrated players voiced their concerns to Ubisoft, urging them to implement a toggle to turn off the Chromatic Aberration setting. Ubisoft heeded their feedback and promised they would provide a fix in their upcoming updates.
What Is Chromatic Aberration?
Chromatic aberration is a visual feature used in games to mimic lens distortion, giving the gameplay a cinematic feel akin to real camera effects.
However, in the case of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, some players are describing its implementation as notably excessive and unpleasant. It blurs object outlines and introduces vivid colors, causing discomfort for certain players and even hindering their ability to play the game.
