CD Projekt Red has finished working on Cyberpunk 2077 after three and a half years of support following its release. The studio is now concentrating on its future projects, which include a new installment in The Witcher series and a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a rough start when it was launched in December 2020, receiving a lot of criticism because of performance problems and bugs. But CD Projekt Red worked on it, and in 2023, with the release of version 2.0, they made big changes to the game’s core mechanics, AI, and perk system. They kept working on it, and the final update, 2.12, dealt with the remaining balance issues and bugs, making the game much more stable and polished.

Following the launch of the Phantom Liberty expansion in September 2023, the Cyberpunk 2077 development team shifted to other studio projects. As of April 2024, no developers are currently working on the game, according to a financial report found by IGN.
This represents a significant change for CD Projekt Red as they concentrate on upcoming projects. The company is presently involved in the development of a new Witcher game known as Polaris. Furthermore, they are working on a follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077, referred to as Orion, with a dedicated team that has expanded to 56 developers.
