Game developer David Jaffe has predicted in a livestream that a remake or remaster of Bloodborne is currently in works. Responding to a fan’s comment about the possibility of a Bloodborne remake, David said:
I love that game (Bloodborne). I don’t know whether it’s a remaster, I don’t know if it’s just a PC version, but we know it’s in development. But when are they gonna show it? I don’t know.
During the stream, the celebrated creator of God of War talked about the state of the gaming industry, recent developments, and his predictions regarding upcoming titles. He also took a look at commercial rankings of games across various platforms.
David claims to have heard rumors from various sources that Sony is planning a showcase in June, and that the studio is currently working on a remake or remaster of Bloodborne, a popular RPG. He also hinted towards Metal Gear Solid remake, which has been rumored to be in development for months. Since Jaffe has worked with Sony before, the credibility of his sources and the information provided by them can be considered solid.
David Jaffe confirms the rumors about Bloodborne remake/remaster
Rumors about a Bloodborne remake have been doing rounds on the internet for a while now, but this is the most legitimate information revealed so far.
Jaffe, during the livestream, was interacting with the audience, answering their questions, and giving his two cents on several matters. He thinks it’s highly unlikely the rumored game in development is Bloodborne 2. During the stream, he responded to a fan’s comment by saying:
I don’t think Bloodborne 2 is in development.
David Jaffe strongly believes that the studio is working on the original title; it’s either going to a be a remaster for next-gen consoles or a PC version of the original game. If speculation is to be believed, the remaster will be released on PS5 and PC.
Bloodborne fans are constantly asking for a PS5 port version that will allow them to enjoy the title at 60 FPS. According to many, this eight-year-old game is perfect for a remaster. However, the developer, FromSoftware, has announced the development of Armored Core VI, as well as creation of DLCs for their celebrated title, Elden Ring. So, it’s safe to assume we won’t be getting a Bloodborne remake this year.
