The release date and a gameplay reveal trailer for Persona 5 Tactica were featured at the Nintendo Direct Showcase 2023. The game, defined as a tactical spin-off of the Persona mainline titles, will be released on November 17 for Nintendo Switch along with all other major platforms. Nintendo revealed that they have started accepting pre-orders for the physical version of this game.
Players can once again take on the roles of the Phantom Thieves, who are stuck in an unknown universe. In this world, they will join forces with a revolutionary named Erina, who is trying to overthrow the armies that have taken over her world.
Persona 5 Tactica features turn-based combat
Persona 5 Tactica is set to be a tactical combat game that features turn-based combat. The trailer revealed some gameplay elements, as well as some new enemies. Players have to keep a level head, be mindful of their resources and party members, and devise their attack strategies accordingly. Based on their resources and objectives, players can perform close-by attacks, ranged attacks, and special attacks.
Fusion ability from the main series returns in Persona 5 Tactica
The trailer for Persona 5 Tactica also featured a glimpse of a brand-new attack mechanic called the Tripple Threat. This will make all three members of the party come together to form a burning triangle of fire, trapping enemies in it to deal heavy damage. The trailer also revealed that the beloved Fusion ability from the Persona series will be included in this game, allowing players to combine different personas in order to create a uniquely different one.
Persona 5 Tactica platforms
Persona 5 Tactica will launch on November 17 on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available on PC and Xbox Game Pass as a day one addition.
