Sony has announced an increase in the yearly subscription charges for their PS Plus service across all the tiers. The revised pricing will come into effect from September 6, 2023, and will be applied worldwide. While the prices for the yearly subscription are increased, the subscribers opting for a yearly membership will still gain discounted pricing as compared to ones who subscribe on a monthly or three-month basis. This means that monthly prices for the PS Plus subscription are also expected to increase, even though Sony hasn’t announced exactly how much increase in monthly subscription charges users can expect.
The pricing increase is set to affect all tiers of the PlayStation’s subscription service i.e. Essential, Extra, and Premium. The revised pricing for these services is as follows:
- PlayStation Plus Essential 12-Month Subscription
79.99 USD | 71,99 Euro | 59.99 GBP | 6,800 Yen - PlayStation Plus Extra 12-Month Subscription
134.99 USD | 125,99 Euro | 99.99 GBP | 11,700 Yen - PlayStation Plus Premium 12-Month Subscription

PS Plus monthly games for September 2023
Sony has also announced the lineup of three games coming to PS Plus as the monthly games offering for all subscribers. The following titles will be available for the subscribers to download from September 5 and will be available to download till October 2.
Saints Row (PS4 & PS5)
The reboot of Saints Row, this 2022 title by Deep Silver promises to be the ‘biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created’. Players can engage in genre-defining combat in the vast and open-world city of Santo Ileso. Commonly considered an excellent alternative to Rockstar Game’s immensely popular Grand Theft Auto series, Saints Row also allows players to step into the shoes of a criminal – taking the city by storm.
The game features a large number of exciting missions that players have to complete in order to progress in the story. However, in a true sandbox fashion, Saints Row offers an even larger number of side quests to slowly capture the city and rule it with an iron fist. The gameplay includes thrilling gun-based combat, high-speed driving missions, and support for online co-op play.
Generation Zero (PS4)
Coming to PS Plus in September, Generation Zero is an open-world FPS game based in 1980s Sweden. Players are tasked with destroying humongous mechanical enemies that have taken over the game’s world with the help of allies. The game features online co-op play support, wherein the players can form parties of four to battle the mechs and uncover the truth about the events that led to the game’s dark machine-infested world.
Apart from thrilling mech combat, the game also offers endless customization options, with players able to scavenge fallen enemies to collect parts in order to craft enhanced weapons, armor, and ammo. Players also have to build, expand, and fortify their bases in order to slowly regain control over the protagonists’ homeland.
Black Desert – Traveler Edition (PS4)
Black Desert is a MMORPG, offering players a unique experience, set in a fantasy open-world setting. The game features multiple play options, such as player vs. environment combat, player vs. player combat, and large-scale siege wars between players. Apart from the battles, players can also engage in exploration of the game’s vibrant open world and partake in a massive array of side quests as well as activities like fishing, alchemy, gathering, hunting, cooking, horse training, and trading with other players.
The game also allows players to customize their characters by choosing their preferred character class as well as combat style. Moreover, the Traveler Edition of Black Desert includes various add-ons and DLCs released post the game’s release in 2014.
