Baldur’s Gate 3 has a rich terrain with a wide range of features. Burrow holes and crevices in BG3 are among the game’s more interesting features, which can hold great treasures or unspeakable horrors that could lead to your doom. Given the diminutive nature of these topographies, getting in and exploring can be quite a challenge. This also lets you tap into the RPG’s more fun elements. So, here are a few tips on exploring these underground abodes.
Transmutation
Burrow Holes and crevices in Baldur’s Gate 3 are the smallest areas that you can explore. So, size will be an issue when approaching these tiny entrances. The greatest aspect of the game is that you have access to a wide range of characters and a wide range of solutions to deal with this minuscule problem.
The first one would be to make use of a Gnome or Halfling. Despite being the smallest races in the game, they are still too large to fit into a burrow hole. So, the best course of action here would be to use the ‘Reduce’ spell on any such character which will them small enough to fit into the hole.
Illusion
Of course, not everyone is tempted to use Gnomes or Halflings in the playthrough. In that case, such a deficiency can easily be alleviated by using the ‘Disguise Self’ spell on any of your characters and changing into any of these races. You can then use the ‘Reduce spell’ to achieve the desired size for your mission.
Just Turn into a Cat

Druids can make gameplay quite fun in Baldur’s Gate 3. One incredible benefit of playing as a druid is their Shape-shifting ability. The ‘Wild Shape’ perk can allow you to turn into a cat that can slip through any borrow hole or crevice with ease.
Make like the Wind
If you have a warlock, sorcerer, or wizard in your party, you can gain access to a unique transmutation spell that lets you turn into a tiny cloud of gas. The ‘Gaseous Form’ spell is level 3 though. So, you’ll have to progress a bit to acquire it. This spell can also be learned by druids who have chosen the ‘Circle of the Spores’ subclass. Druids learn this spell at level 5.
Note: While all these actions are meant to allow access to burrow holes, you don’t need many of these for crevices given their larger size in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can just use regular Gnomes and Halflings or use ‘Reduce’ on normal-sized races to get through crevices.
