While there are many widely popular places in Starfield’s galaxy-wide map, there are some areas that are worthy to be called hidden gems. One such destination is the Starfield Hopetown, a tiny settlement known for its pride and joy, the Hopetech Company. The Hopetech Company sells spare ship parts of the highest quality at reasonable prices.
So, if you are looking to upgrade your ship and need a few Hopetech parts to get the job done, here’s how you can visit Hopetown in Starfield.
Starfield Hopetown Location

Hopetown is located on Polvo planet, inside the Valo Star System. In order to get to the Valo Star System, you first need to head over to the Narion Star System and grav jump to Valo’s Polvo planet.
While you can visit Hopetown later during the Freestar Collective questline, you can also go there immediately after stepping foot on New Atlantis right after your mission with Vasco.
Starfield Hopetown areas
Starfield Hopetown has mainly three areas of interest:
- Hopetech
- Hopetown Spaceport
- The Best Defense
Hopetech

Hopetech is the ship manufacturing company that makes Hopetown famous. You can visit the Hopetech factory, receive a tour to learn more about the company, and even get a chance to meet the Hopetech CEO Ron Hope.
You can talk to the Hopetech ship saleswoman named Inaya to buy any Hopetech ships available in the catalog. The ships being sold include Star Semi, Watchdog II, Lil Muv, Silent Runner, and Pik Up.
You will also find The Pit Stop, a bar where you can have a drink, eat food, meet NPCs, and have a chat with them. You can also rent a room for only 300 Credits a night from this place.
Hopetown Spaceport
The Hopetown Spaceport is where you will first land once you reach Starfield Hopetown. You can also access the Ship Service Technician from the Spaceport.
The Best Defense

Make sure your Hopetown tour definitely includes the Best Defense store in the game. Although it is a great store for weapons, ammo, clothes, etc. It is most known for its strikingly similar store name from one of the Bethesda classics. Yes, this store is indeed an easter egg from Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion where you could also find “The Best Defense” store selling various valuable items.
