Sony could be planning the PS5 Pro release sometime in September 2024, according to popular industry insider Jeff Grubb.
During a live podcast on his YouTube channel, Jeff referred to the recent PS5 Pro leak as being “certainly real” based on his inside information. He added that the upgraded console may feature a proprietary DLSS-like upscaling tech that Sony is allegedly working on.
Explaining it further, Jeff said,
“… they use their own machine learning to improve images so they can run things at a really high resolution and really high frame rate, and they would include their own hardware in the PS5 Pro to do this.”
The former video game reporter mentioned that these details are “mostly confirmed”. But since there’s no official word from Sony, PlayStation fans must take it with a grain of salt.
Just a few days ago, alleged leaked specs of the PS5 Pro were doing rounds on the internet. The more powerful version of the current PS is expected to have a similar CPU design with 0.9GHz faster clock speed than the standard PS5. The PS5 Pro is also rumored to offer better shading ability (60% more, as per the leak) with a less power-hungry GPU.
