Confirming the undeniable rumors, Rebel Wolves has officially announced that Dawnwalker is the studio’s debut title. The developer posted the confirmation on X along with the first artwork of the AAA game.
The Dawnwalker wallpaper makes a bold statement with its blood-red background. A seemingly supernatural character with claws is seeing diving out of a cloud of darkness, wielding a sword. The claws, the cross symbol, the blood moon-ish vibe, and the title itself all point towards the protagonist possibly being a vampire.
While the team did not share much in their latest announcement, the bits of information available on Dawnwalker: Origins sure make it extremely promising.
Rebel Wolves is a new studio made up of ex-CD Projekt Red veterans who helped develop Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher. The Polish studio recently got its creative director, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, who also previously worked at CDPR. Upon joining the new project, Mateusz stated,
“We aim to deliver an experience that will allow for a variety of choices and room for experimentation when replayed.”
Dawnwalker is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and is supposed to be a dark fantasy game. Dawnwalker: Origins will apparently be the first title in the franchise and has already entered the alpha stage of development.
