Warbonds in Helldivers 2 are designed to aid the Super Earth’s efforts to win the war. Once unlocked, they give players a chance to acquire more gear.
Helldivers 2 Warbonds, Explained
Warbonds in Helldivers 2 are a special system of gears and cosmetic sets. These sets offer players a chance to diversify their playstyles. However, they do not offer any unfair advantage.
Warbonds are similar to loot boxes in other live service games. One major advantage of these sets is that you can see precisely what you stand to gain from them before buying them.
Similar to every other resource in the game, Warbonds won’t be locked behind a paywall or a timer. You do not necessarily need to spend real money to buy them, nor do you need to unlock them during a specific time window.
You can buy Warbonds in Helldivers 2 by spending the in-game currency called Super Credits. These Super Credits can be earned by completing the missions. While many of these have only cosmetic value, some items found in Warbonds can also fundamentally change the way you play this game.
At the moment, Arrowhead Studios has announced one Warbond coming to Helldivers 2. This Warbond is included in the Super Citizen Edition of Helldivers 2. You can unlock this set in-game by earning Super Credits.
You can also buy this Warbond by spending real money. This is the first of many and the developer will keep adding them post-launch.
The first Warbond, dubbed Steeled Veterans, includes the following items:
- 3 Unique Armor Sets
- 3 Unique Capes
- AR-23E Liberator Explosive – Assault Rifle
- SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary – Shotgun
- JAR-5 Dominator – Explosive Weapon
- P-4 Senator – Pistol
- G-10 Incendiary – Standard Grenade
