According to a recent report by Kadokawa Corporation, the owner of Elden Ring developer FromSoftware, the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will not release before June 2024.
The report, which featured a full-year forecast of the corporation’s gaming domain, applauded the monumental performance of Elden Ring game. However, it also stated that the company will focus on Elden Ring DLC in the “medium to long-term” timeline (screenshot below). Their plans for now seem to be focused around Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon and their own mobile game titles.

Absence of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree from the company’s sales and profit predictions for the year is a clear sign that the DLC release has been postponed.
The title itself has proved to be an immense critical and commercial success. The development for the DLC started mere two months after the launch of the full version of the game, in April 2022. FromSoftware, famed for their exceptional DLCs, had even posted a teaser image for the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC close to the anniversary of the title’s release on Feb 23, 2023.

The universe of Elden Ring itself is massive, offering players a wide range of activities to undertake in the game’s beautifully designed open world. However, judging from the success of some DLCs for previous FromSoftware games, it’s no wonder that the Elden Ring DLC is highly awaited.
FromSoftware has consistently put out DLCs for their games, most notably including the Old Hunters DLC for Bloodborne and Ashes of Ariandel for Dark Souls 2. Their DLCs usually feature superior combat experience, new storylines, and new bosses that really test the mettle of even hardcore gamers.
