Konami has revealed that players can switch back to a well-known control scheme and change the game’s appearance in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the new version of Metal Gear Solid 3. While I definitely won’t return to the old controls, as they are dated, it is nice to know you can always give yourself the extra challenge of using them.
The new version looks amazing. It was made with Unreal Engine 5 and has really detailed graphics. However, some fans are worried because they think the colors and overall style don’t match the original 2004.

In response to this feedback, Konami said they would add a “Legacy Style” choice. This will make the controls like the ones in the old PS2 version and also add a special look to make it feel like the original game. People who like the new controls can still use the old look for a more nostalgic feel.
This news comes after clues appeared on the Konami website showing the new Legacy Style controls in a short video. Moreover, fans talked a lot about and compared the new version’s look to the old one, pointing out the differences in how they look.
The new Legacy Style in the game gives fans an old-school look they remember from Metal Gear Solid 3. Konami has said they want players to see if the new team really gets what makes the Metal Gear games special. Based on what fans said, they added the Legacy Style and classic filter, but people will probably keep debating whether the remake truly feels like the original until we know more.
Konami’s last statement makes me worried because only Hideo Kojima knows what’s best for the series, so hopefully, the company doesn’t try to do anything more than a remake.
