There are many Descendants you can play, as in The First Descendant, each with its own unique look, allowing players to be who they want to be. But even after picking the character you want to play, many players want to make it their own with a change of color on the character’s outfit in The First Descendant. Unfortunately, there might be some bad news if you are that player.
How to Change Outfit Color in The First Descendant
When you are in Albion (Hub world), you can change the color of your Descendant’s skin in The First Descendant by going to the Customization tab in the pause menu, selecting the desired skin, and pressing L2 to open the Change Color option.
However, this can only be done with the paid premium skins. The default skin of any Descendant cannot change colors. This was possible in the early Steam Beta and the Crossplay Open Beta, but it has since been removed for the final launch version of The First Descendant for some reason.

Many players are disappointed with this decision, as it makes no sense to remove this feature unless Nexon is trying to make paid skins more appealing. Nexon even gave out the red color for free as compensation for the rough launch, yet you cannot use it because this “free” color cannot be applied to free skins, only the paid ones.
We can only hope that this feature will be added later, giving Nexon the benefit of the doubt and assuming it may be because of a bug. Since the change color feature already exists in The First Descendant, it can be added to the game later, especially when many players ask for it.
