Spectre Divide, often also referred to as “Shroud’s game”, puts a new twist to the tactical shooter genre by adding two characters to control. Its 3v3 setup works perfectly with each player having essentially two lives but there is more to it than that. It’s about how you use your spectre, where you place it, what gadgets and guns you have and more. So, here are some of the top Spectre Divide beginner tips to help you grip its unique gameplay much faster.

Top 5 Spectre Divide Beginner Tips

Here are some helpful tips that will improve your games in Spectre Divide, from the placement of your Spectre to the use of elements of the map and everything in between.

Pre-Plan Your Spectre Placement

There is a high chance you already play another tactical shooter like Valorant where the buy phase is nothing but that, but in Spectre Divide, this is a pre-planning phase where you have to decide where you are going to position yourself as well as your Spectre.

This unique mechanic of the game opens up many different possibilities to explore on each map. You can experiment with keeping your Spectre close so that in case you die, you can quickly come back with the Spectre. Alternatively, you can try and place your Spectre in an entirely separate lane and keep switching back and forth as you push up in each lane.

What you need to keep in mind is that some plays work better on some lanes of some maps while some don’t, just because your specific Spectre placement strategy worked in one area doesn’t mean it will be as good on a different map. So try and experiment with it.

Split The Bill

This beginner tip for Spectre Divide will come as a shocker for people familiar with tactical shooters because, in Spectre Divide, you can buy half a loadout for your teammate while they can buy you one-half as well. But it’s not like you are probably thinking right now.

This only works because of the unique gameplay of Spectre Divide where you have two characters to buy loadouts for. So this means a typical “full buy” would mean a full buy for both the characters. So you can buy a full loadout for one of the characters of your teammate and they can do the same.

Utilize Double Loadouts

Having two loadouts in Spectre Divide allows for a variety of playstyles and combinations for it. You don’t have to always buy the same guns for each character. Depending on your strategy, you can experiment with different guns for you and your Spectre based on what potential range of combat they might face in their position.

Like for example on defence, you can keep your Spectre with an SMG close to the enemy lines where they are going to push in from while you sit back at range with a long-range weapon. This way you can spot them and potentially take them out at range but if they push further enough you can switch to the Spectre and take them out at close range with an SMG.

Gain Info Using Spectre

At first impressions, the Spectre might feel gimmicky like an exaggerated teleport ability but it’s way more than that. Using your Spectre correctly allows you to have info on a certain part of the map. This is because when the Spectre is not in use, it will still inform you about any noises heard or enemies sighted via an indication on screen.

This is crucial for high-level play as controlling space on the map is the bread and butter of winning matches in a tactical shooter like Spectre Divide. Understanding this mechanic and using it correctly will separate you from being a beginner and push you to higher levels.

Take Space With Both Characters

One of the most crucial beginner tips for Spectre Divide is something that most new players forget to do; move both your characters. As you take space in a particular part, switch between your Spectre and move it up as well before switching back and pushing forward.

Say you are playing on the attacker side and trying to plant on a site and if you moved your Spectre along with you covering different angles, you will be able to plant and then switch to your Spectre and cover your own plant.

Getting better at Spectre Divide all comes down to using and utilizing your two bodies correctly. Tactical shooter veterans will still struggle to be at the same level on this game since the Spectre mechanic is something to learn with time. So don’t be disappointed if you don’t get the hang of it right away. Just follow these Spectre Divide beginner tips and you should be well on your way to climbing the Ranked Mode ladder.
