Choosing the right weapon in PvP or PvE is always important, but in Throne & Liberty, it can significantly impact your whole gameplay. This NCSoft game offers all kinds of weapons you can choose from. One of those is Spear/Dagger or Shadowdancer, a potent weapon pairing that is perfect for DPS players. Here’s a guide to building one of the strongest Spear/Dagger combinations that can easily take down any opponent.
The Spear Dagger Combination
Unlike other weapon combinations in Throne & Liberty, the Spear/Dagger has good AoE while also being quite mobile. Even though this weapon is meant for PvE battles or dungeons, they’re just as good for PvP with the right upgrades.

Here are some Pros and Cons of this weapon:
Pros:
- Gives good damage output.
- Spear/Daggers can be used in any battle, PvP or PvE.
- Fast & strong attacks from two different weapons.
Cons:
- Upgrades are necessary for better damage.
- Plenty of skills you need to master.
- Costs a lot of Mana.
- Not as sustainable compared to other weapons.
Attributes For Spear/Dagger or Shadowdancer

The primary attributes of Spear/Dagger are Dexterity and Strength, while the secondary ones include Wisdom and Perception. If you increase your level in these attributes, you will get stronger and more critical hits with each move. Keep upgrading your Primary attributes more, since they’ll be giving you most of the benefits.
Skills For Spear/Dagger or Shadowdancer
Skills decide what effect your weapon will have on the enemy besides the basic damage. Make sure you have enough Mana at all times since using these skills can bring it down quickly.
Here are a few groups of skills to put on your weapon depending on who you’re battling:
For Fighting Bosses or PvP

These skills will help you create a Spear/Dagger that’s powerful enough to defeat Bosses throughout the game. This combination of skills is good for one-on-one fights.
- Defense Skill: Block Blade
- Active Skills:
- Cleaving Moonlight
- Inject Venom
- Culling Arc
- Abyssal Cleave
- Cyclonic Fury
- Brutal Incision
- Explosive Fury
- Fatal Stigma
- Gale Rush
- Umbral Spirit
- Unyielding Sentinel
- Rising Slash
- Passive Skills:
- Assassin’s Instinct
- Murderous Energy
- Wrathful Edge
- Destructive Fang
- Fatal Precision
- Mortal Wrath
- Retaliatory Strike
- Imposing Form
You can start the fight with the skills Gale Rush, then move on to Fatal Stigma and Culling Arc. Follow it up with Abyssal Cleave and Phoenix Barrage or Rising Slash and you will have one of the strongest moves in the game. This order allows you to attack any enemy with high burst damage.
The Slaughtering Slash, Cataclysm, and Death From Above are some other skills you can replace the skills listed above with. You can mix and match these skills too.
For Multiple Mobs or PvE

While Spear/Dagger already has high AoE, using these skillsets can allow you to further increase the effects and clear any mobs with ease.
- Defense Skill: Block Blade
- Active Skills:
- Cleaving Moonlight
- Inject Venom
- Culling Arc
- Abyssal Cleave
- Javelin Surge
- Cyclonic Fury
- Brutal Incision
- Explosive Fury
- Bloodleech Aura
- Gale Rush
- Umbral Spirit
- Unyielding Sentinel
- Rising Slash
- Passive Skills:
- Assassin’s Instinct
- Assassin’s Step
- Wrathful Edge
- Death Knell
- Destructive Fang
- Fatal Precision
- Mortal Wrath
- Retaliatory Strike
- Imposing Form
Fatal Stigma -> Umbral Spirits -> Phoenix Barrage, this order should be followed often in fights since these spells have almost the same cooldown time.
In PvP or PvE battles, adding Inject Venom is a good idea since it will decrease the health of those hit with the Spear/Dagger through poisoning. It’s also easy to reapply, making it good for intense fights.
Choosing The Right Spear/Dagger

Your choice of Spear/Dagger to use will depend on what part of the game you’re in. During the Early game, you can go for the primary weapons Halberd & Dagger of Resistance. To increase overall health, keep Mask of Resistance and Heroic Armor of Resistance on you.
To help with Mana regeneration, use the Deadeye’s Cloak. Wear the complete Resistance set, including Gauntelts and Trousers for full effect. Some other items that can help during Early game are Ring of Precision, Belt of Deftness, Necklace of Clarity and Bracelet of Conquest.
For mid-game (around Level 50), your primary should be Heroic Polearm of the Resistance, along with Darkslayer Daggers. Combine this weapon with proper armor like the Heroic Armor of Resistance, Gauntlets of Field General, Ruthless Enforcer Leggings, Sabatons of the Field General, and Clasp of the Conqueror. Pair it up with Supreme Devotion as it can help with Mana regeneration. The Elusive Hexweaver Hat will also help reduce the cooldown speed of skills.
Go for equipment like Bracers of the Primal King or Amber Dimensional Band and Butcher’s Belt to further increase health and Debuff duration. Most of these items are easily obtainable by completing Dungeons, quests, and Challenges throughout Throne & Liberty.
For the Later parts of the game, you can go for Shaikal’s Mindviel Harpoon with Darkslayer Daggers. You can keep most of the equipment the same as before, or add in Shadow Harvester Mask, Swirling Essence Robe, Shadow Harvester Trouders, and Slayer’s Quicksilver Pendant. Exhange the Butcher’s Belt for Belt of Bloodlust to get better Debuff duration and health.
With the new Talandre Expansion (that includes the Jester of Barbason Guardian), a lot of new equipment was added to the game. If you’re in this part of the game, you can go for the Crimson Hellskewer and Bercant’s Whispering Daggers as your primary weapons. Pair it up with Oblivion’s Wrath Barbute, Howling Wind Shroud, Paramount Full Plate of the Resistance, Royal Praetor’s Gauntlets, Oblivion’s Wrath Leggins, and Imperial Seeker’s Boots.
The Noble Birthright Brooch can increase skill damage and health. The same goes for Infernal Demonpact Cuffs and Solitare of Purity so add these too. Adding the Runed Band of the Black Anvil and Elusive Nymph coil can further increase skill damage resistance and boost debuff duration.
Weapons and skills in Throne & Liberty have to be personalized according to your style of playing, so feel free to mix and match the equipment and skills above to create what works best for you.
