With the recently leaked Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay video, fans of the popular series were sure that the release of this much-awaited game is nearing. And now, some Japanese retailers have listed Assassin’s Creed Mirage on their websites, along with a release date of October 12, 2023.
This was uncovered by popular leaker Gematsu, who has tweeted the links for these postings. According to them, Japanese retailers do not post a placeholder release date. They only reveal the release date if it has been made official. While there is still no official announcement from Ubisoft about the upcoming title’s release, it’s highly possible that the game will be released on October 12.
Japanese retailers have listed Assassin's Creed Mirage with an October 12 release date.
(Japanese retailers generally don't date a product unless official. In other words, placeholder dates aren't a thing.)

The tweet offers links for buying the PS5 version of Assassin’s Creed Mirage from three different retailers, i.e. Amazon Japan, Yodobashi, and Biccamera. Amazon Japan has the PS5 version of the game selling for 6,600 Yen. Since these are some of the most reputed eVendors in Japan, it’s safe to assume that the game will launch on October 12. There are high chances that Ubisoft will officially declare the launch date and hopefully some gameplay footage for Assassin’s Creed at the upcoming Sony PlayStation Showcase. The listing also sheds light on the official box art for the game.
While many gamers predict that the PlayStation Showcase today will offer some clarity on the authenticity of this news, there are also strong chances that Ubisoft might want to reveal the official release date and trailers at their own showcase that’s supposed to happen within a month.
Inspired heavily by its predecessor Unity trilogy, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set roughly 100 years prior the events of AC Brotherhood. Among the few details revealed by Ubisoft, we know that the protagonist of the title will be Basim Ibn Ishq and that the game will be set in Baghdad.
