Battlefield 6 features classes that you can select at the start of a match, and that dictate what kind of role you’re going to play during a match. Now, using your weapon to kill enemies remains constant, but the kind of gadgets you use changes based on the class you pick.
The problem is that not every class functions equally in Battlefield 6, as some offer way more utility than others. Since your victory depends on how your team performs, picking the right class at the right moment will always make the difference. Picking up a bunch of kills is important, but making sure your team can keep pushing through objectives is even more crucial.
All Classes Ranked in Battlefield 6

Rank | Class |
---|---|
S | Support |
A | Engineer |
B | Recon, Assault |
There are four classes you can pick in Battlefield 6, which include Assault, Recon, Engineer, and Support. These classes haven’t really changed much since the inception of Battlefield, especially when you compare them to the likes of Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4. However, the way they perform and their importance in a team have varied.
Before jumping into the details of why they have been ranked in this way, it’s important to discuss the tiers and what they represent. S is the highest tier and is reserved for the Class that is indispensable within matches. The A-tier has classes that can often change the course of a fight, and the tier is much closer to S than B. The B-tier is for classes that do come in handy, but your team can survive without them.
It’s also important to mention that the tier list of the classes matters only when you’re trying hard to win. However, if you’re playing for fun, there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to class selection. Battlefield 6 isn’t a competitive game, and having fun comes foremost, and if you’re enjoying a lower-tier class, then there’s no harm in that.
B-Tier: Assault

Assault is the ultimate lone wolf class in Battlefield 6, where your job is to stack up as many kills as possible. You get to use an Assault Rifle by default, but you can use anything you want. However, you also get some other gadgets, which include a Grenade Launcher, an Injector, and the ability to use a second primary weapon.
The Grenade Launcher for the Assault Class is quite good, as it can be used to clear chokepoints. Additionally, the Injector helps you run fast, and its duration is extended whenever you pick up kills. The problem is, none of these abilities help out the team unless you are killing a lot of enemies. As an Assault player, you don’t offer any direct utility to the team, and if you aren’t at the top of the KDA (Kill Death Assists) Charts, you’re pretty much wasting your time.
B-Tier: Recon

Recon is a mixed bag of a class in Battlefield 6, mainly because of the weapon utility. Your objective as a Recon class is to spot enemies and kill them from a distance with Sniper Rifles. If you have been playing the Battlefield 6 Beta, the Liberation Peak map is a heaven for Snipers, and players are already complaining about how difficult it is to approach objectives.
The problem is, the role of Recon begins and ends with Liberation Peak in Battlefield 6. This is because, apart from that map, this class cannot be used effectively anywhere else. If you’re really good with Sniper Rifles, then maybe you can play the aggressive style and quick scope enemies to death. However, for the average player, this class doesn’t offer much to the team.
If you try to argue the fact that Recon can spot enemies either with their UAV gadget or Sniper Scope, it still doesn’t justify the usage in Battlefield 6. Most of the maps in the game aren’t that big, and enemies can be easily spotted with the naked eye. There might be instances where you get caught off-guard by enemies hiding in corners, but these players will always kill you, irrespective of whether you’re playing Recon or not. As such, in large-scale maps with a lot of open space, the Recon can be useful, but apart from that, you’re better off leaving it.
A-Tier: Engineer

The Engineer is one of the most important classes in Battlefield 6, mainly because of the utility to repair vehicles like tanks. That is something that helps the team massively. The longer the Tank is alive, the easier it is to push and capture objectives. As such, the Engineer is key to gaining victories and is a must-have class in any mode you’re playing.
The Engineer can also carry Rocket Launchers in their inventory, which is one of the key tools in offense. You can use the Rocket Launcher to destroy Tanks, Choppers, and even Jets. Hitting the Tank is easier than Choppers or Jets, but it is an important tool in gaining an upper hand over the enemy. If you have multiple Engineers throwing Rockets at the enemy Tank while a few of them repair the ally Tanks, you can easily win games.
The reason this class does not make it to the S-tier is that the Rocket Launchers aren’t strong enough, and it takes a lot of shots to destroy a vehicle. Additionally, the Tank repair mechanic can feel a bit clunky at times, since you have to bring out your gadget and play at the mercy of your team. If you get shot while you’re repairing a Tank, there is no counterplay as you’ll die before switching to a weapon.
S-Tier: Support

The Support is by far the strongest and the most useful class in Battlefield 6. This is mainly because they can fast revive fallen allies quickly, which is crucial in picking up victories. Other classes can also revive allies, but for Supports, it’s instantaneous, which makes a huge difference. When other classes revive allies, they are put in a 5-second animation, where enemies can kill you. However, the instantaneous revive from Medic doesn’t put anybody in danger, which makes it easy to continue the fight. There have been numerous occasions when my team was able to grab a victory because a Medic pulled out a few swift revives while capturing a zone.
The Support is also a Mobile Supply Crate where they can restock your Ammo in Battlefield 6. This has to be one of the most valuable features in the game, since you run out of Ammo very quickly. However, the Support ensures that you’re always resupplied and you can continue fighting regardless of the scenario. Finally, the Support can also deploy a Cover, which allows you to stand your ground and fight. The cover also helps with revives since the enemy cannot shoot you from the other side. If you’re trying really hard to pick up victories in Battlefield 6, Support is the only class you need to play.
