Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, recently discussed the highly anticipated GTA 6 in an interview. Zelnich emphasized on Rockstar’s commitment to achieving perfection in the development process.
Rockstar Games has earned a reputation for creating the infamous GTA and Red Dead Redemption series. However, the extended development period for GTA 6 has tested the patience of the franchise’s fans. Nevertheless, it is likely that Rockstar aims to ensure the sixth installment meets their standards before its release, because the expectations are undoubtedly high.
During an interview with Aarthi and Sriram on YouTube, Take-Two’s CEO discussed Grand Theft Auto 6 (begins at the 30:21 mark in the interview). He mentioned that Rockstar strives to create an experience that surpasses anything players have seen before. Zelnick said,
‘Rockstar seeks nothing short of perfection.’
It is clear that the development team is dedicated to delivering a product that sets new standards in the gaming industry. While it is possible that the success of GTA Online may have influenced the extended development period, it is primarily Rockstar’s pursuit of creating the best possible game that drives the delay. Speculation from a Take-Two fiscal report suggests that GTA 6 could potentially release as early as 2024, although this remains uncertain until an official announcement is made.
Despite leaked information suggesting that GTA 6 might be set in Vice City, little is known about the game beyond these unverified details from 2022. For now, all we can do is wait for further updates (or leaks) from Rockstar.
