Demon Slayer season 3 may have ended, but the adrenaline is yet to wear off. And with the announcement of season 4, fans are even more excited to see what the Hashira Training and Infinity Castle arcs will entail. Now, what’s interesting about each season of Demon Slayer is that it never disappoints. In fact, the next one just happens to precede the one in animation quality, intense battle, and story matter.
Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc was likewise exciting in a lot of ways, showing two Hashiras and two Upper Moons and their skills on display. Besides Genya and the Tanjiro siblings, Haganezuka’s face reveal and Muzan’s brief history was yet another icing on the cake. So, with Demon Slayer season 4 on the way, here are some facts that viewers may have either forgotten or missed. Whatever may be the case, this will serve as a good jog down the memory lane to prepare for the upcoming season.
Tanjiro’s scar, Mitsuri’s mentor, and 6 other facts from Demon Slayer that one may have missed
Muichiro Tokito killed a demon before joining Demon Slayer Corps

Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito had a traumatic past, and while he may have forgotten about it for a long time, he was reminded of it in Demon Slayer season 3 while being trapped inside Gyokko’s Water Prison. Episode 8 showed the flashback of the Tokito family. After the death of the parents, Muichiro and his twin, Yuichiro, were on their own. At some point during summer, they were attacked during night while they were sleeping.
In an attempt to save Muichiro, who woke up to drink water, from the demon, Yuichiro sacrificed. However, the severed limbs of his brother triggered a survival instinct within Muichiro, so much so that after a quick timeskip, he was seen inside the forest, standing with blood splatters on his face and clothes, and with a butcher knife on his hand as the demon disintegrated under the first rays of sun.
Although the actual fighting scene was omitted, but the fact that the soft-spoken and shy Muichiro could kill a demon on his own at such a young age is impressive. However, his brother didn’t survive, and after this, he was taken by the Ubuyashiki family to be raised as a demon slayer, and later, a Hashira.
Tanjiro’s mother knew where the Blue Spider Lily grew
Although an insignificant detail, the knowledge of the Blue Spider Lily’s location is incredibly important for the plot and Muzan Kibutsuji. As such, Kie Kamado, the mother of Tanjiro and Nezuko, had known about the Blue Spider Lily, even if she may have not known the effects or properties of the flower’s usage. In fact, during the Mount Natagumo arc in Demon Slayer season 1, Tanjiro saw a flashback of his mother taking him to a place where the Blue Spider Lily grew. However, he was too young to realize the value of the flower.
Inosuke was raised by a herd of boars
After Levi, Inosuke was a character who made me wanna hug him so much. It was uneasy thing remember he's just a baby that raised by a wild boar at that time. His mother forced to left him bc they both got attacked by demon. pic.twitter.com/eJDp6qY41n

Kotoha Hashibira, Inosuke’s mother, had a troublesome marital time as she often faced domestic abuse at the hands of her husband and mother-in-law. Luckily, she managed to escape and sought refuge under the clan of Doma, the Upper Moon Two. All was fine until she realized the demon fed on his followers, so attempted to run away.
However, before she was cornered by Doma, his mother threw the baby Inosuke into the river hoping he would survive. While she died, Inosuke lived. He was found by a mother wild boar who faced the death of her children, so she raised the human Inosuke as her own. After his foster mother’s death, he started wearing her head as a mask and started acting like a boar himself to not forget his roots.
Muzan gave his blood to Tanjiro’s family to see if they could turn into demons
The remaining Kamado family members, with the exception of Tanjiro, were under attack by Muzan when the eldest son was out. Experimental by nature, Muzan had always been on the pursuit to create a demon who was resistant to the sun’s effect so that he could absorb their power and achieve the same power.
As a result, he would either consume humans or infuse them with his blood to the effects. In case of failure, he would kill them, which happened with the Kamado family. Everyone died due to an overdose of Muzan’s blood, except Nezuko, who became a demon and was later able to conquer the sun.
In hindsight, this is a better outcome since had Tanjiro been turned into a demon, Muzan would’ve instantly known about the Blue Spider Lily and the story would’ve ended pretty soon.
Muichiro forgot about Kyojuro Rengoku
Ever since his proper introduction in Swordsmith Village Arc, it became clear that the Mist Hashira suffered from amnesia. Muichiro couldn’t even recall his history with his parents, lest he would remember about his colleagues. So, even though the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, and Muichiro were both Hashiras of the Demon Slayer Corps, the latter didn’t have much memories from his time under that organization.
The Flame Hashira was passionate, influential, and had a fiery personality. Yet, for Muichiro, he hadn’t been influential until he recalled some of her impassioned words after his fight with Upper Moon Five, Gyokko. This happened when Gyokko impaled Kotetsu in the chest, but the young swordsman later revealed to the Mist Hashira that he was saved due the handguard of the Flame Hashira (which was given to him by Tanjiro to be used in his sword) to be used in his katana. The flame shape triggered the memory of Kyojuro, and Muichiro was thus able to recall the deceased Hashira.
Mitsuri Kanroji trained under the Flame Hashira
UFOTable please adapt Rengoku Gaiden! We would get more time with the best Hashiras! We need this adapted in the future! Twina needs it! More Rengoku is always good! Especially if we see him train Mitsuri! pic.twitter.com/RLBvC1cgSY

Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, was an influential man just like his father. At some point in time, after Mitsuri joined the Demon Slayer Corps, she trained under her colleague Kyojuro Rengoku. Since Rengoku was the Flame Hashira, he would naturally impart the knowledge of Flame Breathing to her. However, Mitsuri wasn’t able to make full use of it due to its complex Breathing Form. As a result, she developed Love Breathing – a style that suited her well not only due to her superhuman flexibility and Nichirin Sword but also her emotions.

The Ubuyashiki family is the direct blood descendant of Muzan Kibutsuji. Having been the family that gave birth to a demon, the lineage was then cursed. So, each male child who was born into the family would be affected with an unknown but deadly curse that affected them physically as they grew and would soon take their life.
Kaguya Ubuyashiki, the present head of the Demon Slayer Corps, was inflicted with such a curse. Although he started a family of his own, he had one daughter and one son. Thus, the son was naturally supposed to bear the same effects of the curse. To prevent the curse from spreading and cheating death, Kaguya proposed a plan where he made his son follow the lifestyle of his daughter and lived like that. This was done to ensure that the curse won’t affect him just like his male predecessors.
Tanjiro’s scar turns into his demon slayer mark

Tanjiro’s scar is natural as it was formed while saving his younger brother from being burnt. Uncannily, it also resembles Yoruichi’s birthmark, but the two have no similar connection by blood. However, Tanjiro’s natural scar does turn into a demon slayer mark as it extends and enhances his strength. This was first seen during the Entertainment District arc while fighting Gyutaro. Recently, in the Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc, while searching for the main body of Hantengu, Tanjiro’s scar had turned into his demon slayer mark during battle.
