Still, before the rush of July 2023 catches up, here are some of the anime movies and TV shows that should keep you entertained for the month.

From the animation house of Studio Deen, Ōoku: The Inner Chambers by Noriyuki Abe will see an interesting fictional premise in the Edo period of Japan. The main focus is on the Ōoku of Edo Castle and has themes relating to social power and management. However, the best part about the story is its gender politics, where there is a shift in the gender reversal and men who were historically recorded to have occupied the authoritative position are now replaced by women.
According to VIZ Media, the brief synopsis of Ōoku: The Inner Chambers reads:
“In Edo period Japan (1603 to 1868), a strange new disease called the Redface Pox has begun to prey on the country’s men. Within eighty years of the first outbreak, the male population has fallen to a quarter of the total female population. Women have taken on all the roles traditionally granted to men, even that of the Shogun. The men, precious providers of life, are carefully protected and the most beautiful of the men are sent to serve in the Shogun’s Inner Chambers.”

The second part of Sailor Moon Cosmos will continue adapting the Shadow Galactica arc. Although the official synopsis has not been released by Toei Animation and Studio Deen, it is expected that the first part of Tomoya Takahashi’s Sailor Moon Cosmos will end in a cliffhanger, possibly with Usagi’s resolve to face Sailor Galaxia in the final battle. As such, the second part may move forward with the fight between the two. Additionally, the film may also touch upon Mamoru Chiba’s mysterious disappearance and Usagi getting back her memories of her boyfriend at the airport before he vanished.
