The release of the final episode of Demon Slayer season 3 brought much satisfaction among the viewers as the good vs evil battle came to end, at least for now. With explosive visuals and incredible fights involving the Mist Hashira vs Upper Moon Five and Mitsuri, Genrya, and the Kamado siblings vs Upper Moon Four, the revelation at the end of the episode was a huge shocker for anime-only viewers.
Although it was hinted at in the Demon Slayer season 3 opening and manga readers knew what was to come, the excitement of seeing an animated Nezuko Kamado walking under the sun and greeting her brother was incredible. But with Nezuko now seen immune to sunlight, it puts forth the question – is she the perfect model of demon that Muzan Kibutsuji had wanted to create?

With the recent defeat of the two Upper Moons, it was time for the Swordsmith Village arc to wrap up for good, but not before delivering a shocking news. Although unintentionally, the result of the battle was more than rewarding. By the time Upper Moon Four, Hantengu, is defeated, it is already morning, and as the first rays of sun touch the younger Kamado, she doesn’t eviscerate.
Nezuko Kamado, the fan favorite adorable demon with a bamboo muzzle who can ferociously kill her kind, finally gets a quasi-resolution in the plot. As mentioned before, Nezuko is now susceptible to the effects of sunlight and has gained back her voice and speech abilities. As she greets her brother and their friends, it seems hope is not lost as her brother finds a new motivation to turn her back into human completely. However, given the recent progressions that took place with Nezuko’s body, it brings to mind – how will Muzan react to this situation?

As the history of Demon Slayer states, Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji had killed the entire Kamado family, except for Tanjiro and Nezuko. While the murdering happened behind-the-scenes, one can presume that Muzan may have tried to inject his blood to the deceased Kamado members as well as Nezuko. It may so happen that their body couldn’t handle the doses of blood and succumbed to death, but Nezuko didn’t. However, Muzan didn’t know that. He was absent from the scene when Tanjiro found out that his sister had been demonized. What followed next set the events of Demon Slayer into motion.
On the other hand was Muzan Kibutsuji. Having been credited as the first demon of his kind, he lived for centuries, experimenting, searching actively for the Blue Spider Lily, and offering his blood to humans so that he could demonize and take them under his wings. Now, the search for Blue Spider Lily started because the flower was significant in turning him into an immortal demon, but it also made him unable to walk under the sun and only consume human or animal flesh. However, the Blue Spider Lily also had the effect of turning a demon immune to sunlight, which is what he wanted. This would entertain him having a perfect body without any weakness, but the search wasn’t easy and futile.
Then there is Nezuko who was unlike any other demon as she protected humans, had a powerful Blood Demon Art like the Twelve Kizukis, exceptional growth rate and regeneration, and didn’t consume humans. However, with her resistance to sunlight, Muzan shifts his goals to pursue her so that he could absorb her and gain the sun resistance ability. As such, this makes Nezuko the ideal demon for Muzan because this is what he had initially aimed when he started offering blood to humans to turn them into demons

Later in the manga, Nezuko turns back into a human while her brother becomes a demon due to Muzan transferring his blood to him so that the protagonist could carry forward his will. Given Tanjiro, as a demon, is able to conquer the sun due to Nezuko’s blood (that is sun resistance) that Muzan absorbed, he was also invincible because he was the only demon to know Sun Breathing and survive against the demon slayer. Now, this makes him an ideal demon, having achieved the peak of power. But Muzan wasn’t alive to witness the success of his experiment and use it to his advantage, so while he was alive, it made Nezuko the ideal demon to have in his possession.
