Ever since its release, Hogwarts Legacy has received lots of love and appreciation. While the game in its vanilla state is a beautiful experience, the PC community has developed mods to further expand on it.
Mods allow you the freedom to customize a game to suit your preferences and playstyle.
We’ve compiled a list of Hogwarts Legacy mods ranging from game-changing revelations to wacky, comical goof-ups that further spellbind your wizarding journey.
Arachnophobia
This mod is a lifesaver for those who struggle with the idea of spiders anywhere near them. All of the spiders in the game are converted into plain boxes, making the mod relatively straightforward. Although it leaves the spider’s gameplay mechanics in place, it does take away the game’s visual component.
Autohomora
Even though Hogwarts Legacy tries to keep its lockpicking mechanics interesting, the process of unlocking something becomes a long grind throughout the game. Fortunately, you can automatically unlock anything in Autohomora, no matter how difficult.
Ascendio
There are minor performance issues throughout the wizarding world, such as sudden drops in framerate and stuttering. Hogwarts Legacy runs better thanks to Ascendio, allowing you to live your most magical life without worrying about your game stuttering or lagging.
DragonOgryff
No matter how mystical the world of Hogwarts Legacy, some of us crave that good ol’ feeling of riding a dragon. This mod makes the Hippogriff into a terrifying dragon that can both walk and fly around the landscape of Hogwarts.
Facial hair
You may be playing as a young adult, but there’s a good chance you’d want to feel a little grown up? With the help of the Facial Hair mod, you can customize your character to have facial hair and style it based on your personality.
Mouse controls for broom
This mod lets you use the mouse to control your best Hogwarts Legacy broom, including the ascend and descend movements. The mod works well with a keyboard, giving you the freedom to customize your controls as you wish.
Hagrid paintings
Remember how corny and quirky Hagrid looked in the PS1 adaptation of the Harry Potter games? Well, it’s time to welcome him back. This mod adds our favorite groundskeeper to many paintings illuminating the school’s hallways. It brings back the fan-favorite Ps1 Hagrid, with those sharp, pointy angles.
NPC Schedule Advanced
Thanks to this mod, NPCs who frequent the wizarding grounds now have a full-fledged daily routine to follow instead of them wandering and disappearing at night. Students will visit Hogsmeade on the weekends, and vendors close their shops and go home after nightfall. Certainly a mod for improved immersiveness.
Shrek broom
This one’s purely for the laughs. Somebody once told us the wizarding world was going to roll us. Thanks to this mod, you’ll be rolling out your Shrek broom. Yep. Have fun exploring the world on a huge, green-flying ogre.
Smaller UI
Some of us may be playing on smaller display sizes, thus requiring smaller UI. This makes it look like the game has a bigger ‘screen’, so to speak. The Smaller UI mod solves this very problem.
Talent Reset potion recipe
You can unlock only some of the Hogwarts Legacy Talents because there are more than you have upgrade points for. This can be problematic because you can only respect your character with the aid of mods if you choose the correct one. However, the Talent Reset potion recipe mod makes it possible for Pippin’s potion shop in Hogsmeade to sell a formula that permits you to reset your Talents.
Thomas broom
Another bizarre rendition of your regular broom, the Thomas broom is for those of you with refined tastes. Imagine being able to fly through the air above Hogwarts on your blue locomotive!
Voldemort
Hogwarts will always feel incomplete without the presence of one of the evilest personalities to ever come out of the franchise. The Voldemort mod is ideal if you want to roleplay as “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named”. Despite the Dark Lord not having a nose, this mod gets extra marks for still enabling hair and eyewear customization options.
Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer
Together Team, developers of the excellent Skyrim Together multiplayer mod, are currently working on a multiplayer mod for Hogwarts Legacy. Although it is still very early in the mod’s development, the results appear promising for individuals who want to explore the game with their friends. The mod is already playable for patrons of Together Team’s Patreon.
Realism overhaul
Hogwarts Legacy is undoubtedly a beautiful game, but it often lacks good contrast lighting and shaders. Most players won’t even notice, however, after testing the Realism Overhaul shade patch, gamers will realize the graphics can improve beyond comprehension. The game’s clean feel improves the intricacies and gives the Wizarding World more depth to its color palette.
Magic Gun
Even though we’ve all fantasized about casting magic with wands, some of us would prefer to use a gun to fire spells. Install the Magic Gun mod if you want an odd yet enjoyable experience in Hogwarts Legacy.
Free Fly mod
In Hogwarts Legacy, flying can feel limited and cause a lot of frustration. Flying constraints and limitations may be inconvenient, but with Free Fly Mod, you can move about the world without any restrictions.
Toggle HUD
Do you want to record your gameplay or take a screenshot of your screen without a HUD element present? All the HUD components covering your screen can be turned off with just one button and turned back on whenever you like. By pressing F6, you can also eliminate merely the white borders surrounding things.
Sword Of Gryffindor
One of the most iconic weapons from the wizarding world, of course, the Sword of Gryffindor was making its way to Hogwarts Legacy – one way or another. Although you can’t really use the sword like a sword, the Sword of Gryffindor replaces your Wand instead. Hey, anything that makes casting spells look cooler, right?
Arithmancy Number Marking mod
Running into a door puzzle seems okay, but what if it involves maths? Nobody enjoys playing a game when they have to solve maths puzzles. A mod called Arithmancy Number Marking assists players by inputting numbers on each symbol surrounding the door to speed up solving these riddles. Players can use these numbers to help them solve the door puzzle.
