Street Fighter 6, the newest addition to the series, is set to launch on June 2, 2023. The date was confirmed at The Game Awards in December 2022 in their World Premiere trailer. The game features a new exciting single-player story mode, returning characters, and an online competitive mode.
Street Fighter 6 will be officially released on Xbox series X and S, PC, PS5 and PS4. Capcom also recently launched demo versions of the game for Steam and PS5, PS4 and Xbox series X and S. The game will have three editions, including the base, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions as well as a Collector’s Edition for Street Fighter superfans out there.
Street Fighter 6’s crossplay feature explained
The feature was officially confirmed back in 2022 at the Summer Game Fest 2022 in the earliest days of the game’s development. Streamer Maximilian Dood had direct information from the game’s developers at Capcom that Street Fighter 6 will have crossplay.
The cross-play feature simply means that players from any platform will be able to play with players from other platforms of the game. Both online game modes and the Battle Hub will support crossplay. In BattleHub, you can form large lobby groups where you can play and watch games and socialize with friends and strangers.
The cross-play feature also means that the queue time for online modes will be much lesser than the usual queue time with no crossplay feature.
Street Fighter 6 pre-order and pricing details
Street Fighter 6 is available to pre-order in 3 different editions. The base edition is priced at $59.99 and includes only the game.
Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition is priced at $84.99 and includes:
- Year 1 Character Pass which contains 4 characters
- Colors 3 to 10 for each of those Year 1 characters’ outfits
- 4,200 Drive Tickets
The Ultimate Edition of Street Fighter 6 costs $104.99 for:
- Every item from Deluxe Edition
- 4 additional character costumes: Outfit 2 (including colors 1 to 10)
- 4 additional character costumes: Outfit 3 (including colors 1 to 10)
- 2 additional stages
- 7,700 Drive Tickets
Street Fighter 6 Collector’s Edition is called Mad Gear Box and contains all the items from the other 3 editions of the game alongside physical loot to collect for dedicated gamers.
