Avowed has numerous mystical locations, but none of them are as interesting as the Dungeons. These areas are filled with valuable treasures and getting your hands on them isn’t easy. You’ll have to solve a series of challenging puzzles for it. Dungeons can be found hidden within ruins or caves scattered across the Living Lands. Here’s a guide to locating all Dungeons that Avowed has to offer.
Dungeons: Treasures & Totems
There are around 16 dungeons you can explore around the Living Lands. To find one, check your map for a doorway icon marking its entrance. They are scattered over Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, and Scatterscarp. While some dungeons aren’t necessary to explore, they’ll give you a bunch of rewards and special items. Sometimes, you can also find Totem Fragments in these hidden places.
All Dungeons In Dawnshore
Ruinous Cavern
The entrance to this cave lies near the outer walls of the area beyond Southern Paradis. Just go up to the walls and follow the edge or take a detour through the Derelict Garden. It is very close to the Aedryan Embassy. The cave entrance has webs and some ruined structures on top of it.
Eothasian Temple
To reach this temple, you have to start the Dawntreader side quest. To do that, you can leave the first region to start it automatically, or, you can start it after you reach Paradis. Once you get to the Northern Farms beacon, find the Pilgrim’s Path. The entrance to the Eothasian temple will be right beside it. You’ll have to go through some alleyways to reach the entrance. There will be some burning coals near the cave. The exit to this mystic temple can be found going to the north of The Rise.

Fortified Xaurip Camp
There’s a cave you can explore in the Fortified Xaurip Camp. It is between the Shatterscarp Gatehouse and the Fortified camp. The cave’s entrance will have Druidic decor all around it.
Ancient Grotto
This cave is right next to the Ancient Grotto beacon. The rocky entrance will have a flame burning beside it. Totem fragments are essential for the full experience in Avowed, and one of those can be found inside the Ancient Grotto cave. These items can be combined to form God Totems that can give various effects when used. Once you’re inside the cave, go towards the left and past the poisoned water. You can use your skills to create a bridge to cross it. There will be a totem, the Idol of Secret Hatred, near this area.
Naku Tedek
To find this cave, you have to start the Ancient Soil quest. It is one of the main quests and you can also get a totem fragment by visiting this place. You’ll automatically reach this place during the story. It lies to the south of the Wildwoods. The Naku Tedek has another Totem fragment that can help you increase your power. From the entrance of the cave, take a left and use your lightning spells to give power to a generator switch. There will be some water within the cave, freeze it and reach the other end to get the totem fragment, the Effigy Necklace.
Waterfall Cave
As the name suggests, this cave lies next to the scenic waterfalls between The Wildwoods and Fior mes Iverno. It will be on the right side of the waterfall, with some overgrown plants hanging on top of the entrance.
Riverside Cave
This cave can be found near the Mildering Godless Ruins & Fortified Xaurip Camp. It lies to the left of the Abandoned Farms. The rocky cave entrance will have fog all around it. While you can access this cave regardless of what decisions you make, the people around this area will not attack you if you had freed Ygwulf during the mission An Untimely End. While you’re near the Abandoned Farms, remember to take the Sacrificial Dagger which is on the walls near the barns.
All Dungeons in Scatterscarp
Sulfur Mines
These mines are near the base camp of the same name. You eventually have to enter these mines while completing the Fires in the Mines quest. Start the side quest and head over to the gate’s entrance. You’ll have to speak to Darle, an Aedyran soldier to go inside the mines.
Naku Kubel
This place is on the left side of the Naku Kubel Approach. You can only visit this cave if you’ve completed the Shadows of the Past quest. The cave’s entrance will have a creature-like sculpture on the arch and plants around it.
Scaedclef Grotto
This place lies to the North of Scaedclef, with a red thorny tree at the left side of its entrance. The opening will be closed off, so you will have to use your spells to open it. Once you’ve entered the area, follow the path and you’ll see the Research House Key at the right side of the door. After that, come outside and go left towards the research house. There will be another key on the table in front of you. Pick up the Well Key and find the well outside. It will be on the right of the door from where you first entered the place. Use the key on the locked well and travel to Scaedclef Grotto.
Sand Sea Ruins
These ruins lie near the Great Sand Sea. From the ruins, travel through the stairs and keep going straight. You will have to climb the broken wood platforms. At the end of the wooden platforms, take a right and jump up to reach a place with strangely designed stone structures all around it. Follow the path these structures surround and you should enter a tower with a huge hole in the middle. Slowly descend into it and go through the door at the bottom to reach the hidden cave.
Ryngrim’s Domain
This place lies between the Ruined Village and Shark’s Teeth. You will enter this place as the story goes on, mainly while completing the Face Your Fears quest. The cave’s entrance is icy blue and has humanoid figures all around it. There will be an Arisen Skeleton Chanter who will be guarding the Ryngrim’s Domain.
All Dungeons In Galawain’s Tusks
Mt. Forja Mines
These mines lie on the south of the Mt. Forja Quarry near the Primordial Depths. The entrance will have glowing lines on the door if it is open.
Cavern of Voices
To enter this dungeon, you have to start the Chorus of the Lost side quest. Go and speak to Lancu and follow the markers of the side quest. You will be led to a dungeon with some stone pillars near its opening.
Lava Tubes & Garden Cave
These dungeons are near Solace Keep and can be accessed as you complete the main storyline. In Our Dreams Divide Us Still quest, you will have to find the entrances to these places to progress in the game.
