Ubisoft’s latest first-person shooter, XDefiant, features 24 weapons for its Pre-Season launch. Instead of giving weapons their names, they have chosen to be faithful to the real-life names of these guns, which many players love. Any arcade shooter game isn’t complete with the M4A1 assault rifle that becomes the go-to for most. So, let’s find out the best build you can make for the M4A1 loadout in XDefiant.

Best M4A1 Build and Loadout in XDefiant
The M4A1 is always designed to be an all-round assault rifle in most games, and this is true for XDefiant as well. For this build, we will focus on mitigating some of its heavy recoil and trying to make it a laser-accurate weapon.
Attachments
Here are the five attachments you should use to make the best M4A1 build in XDefiant:
- Front Rail: Angled Grip
- Magazine: Quick Mag
- Stock: Padded Stock
- Optics: Reflex Sight
- Rear Grip: Heavy Grip
The Angled Grip for the front rail on this M4A1 build will give you a massive 15% increase in ADS stability, which works wonders as you will mostly be aiming down sights with this weapon. The Reflex Sight on the optics will also help you land better shots when aiming down sights.
The M4A1’s reload times are decent but still on the slower side compared to SMGs, which might put you at a disadvantage during gunfights. This is why we are going to use the Quick Mag magazine to keep your reload times competitive.

One of the main attachments that is truly going to make your M4A1 in XDefiant feel like a laser is the Padded Stock, as this will give you a 15% increase in both recoil recovery and ADS Stability with an added 5% increase in ADS flinch control. This, stacked with the Angled Grip from earlier, will make it extremely accurate when fired while aiming down sights.
Finally, the Heavy Grip will stack on that previous 5% ADS flinch control from the Padded Stock and add 10% more to it, so you stay accurate even when the enemy is firing upon you. It will also provide a slight 2.5% increase in horizontal recoil control as a cherry on top.
Secondary and Device
The M4A1 build will cover all bases, but there will be times when you will need to switch out of your pistol when caught between reloads and such. For the secondary, we recommend you use the M1911 as it works well for close range, while the M4A1 will take care of the longer ranges.
For your Device, you have multiple valid choices. You could go with a Frag Grenade or Sticky Grenade to toss at enemies behind cover and objectives, or you could opt for a Proximity Mine to cover your flank as you take high ground and shoot at enemies from a distance.
With this M4A1 loadout in XDefiant, you can mow enemies down from a distance and keep your accuracy when they start to fight back and fire upon you. If you keep your distance, you will be at an ultimate advantage over most enemies.
