The MP5 is a staple weapon in most games that involve modern weaponry, and it also appears in Ubisoft’s new first-person shooter XDefiant, the MP5A2. The incredible versatility of the MP5A2 makes it the most favored SMG, as it can even battle the likes of assault rifles while being devastating at close ranges. But if you want to make yours even more powerful, here is the best MP5A2 build and loadout for XDefiant.

Best MP5A2 Build and Loadout in XDefiant
For most players, the reason for picking an MP5A2 as their SMG is because they want to be able to fight against players with assault rifles while also keeping close-range supremacy. Our MP5A2 build for XDefiant will focus on making the gun competitive at longer ranges while having minimal sacrifice in its close-range capabilities.
Attachments
Here are the five attachments to create the best MP5A2 build in XDefiant that can perform well even at longer-range engagements:
- Muzzle: Light Suppressor
- Front Rail: Handstop
- Optics: Reflex Sight
- Magazine: Extended Mag
- Rear Grip: Grip Tape
For our muzzle here, I have gone with the Light Suppressor simply because the Light Suppressor doesn’t give any disadvantages. It will keep you off the minimap to some extent and also get rid of that muzzle flash, which will ultimately make you more accurate.
The Handstop on the Front Rail is by far the most important attachment here as it will provide a 15% increase in ADS stability and a 5% increase in vertical recoil control, which will come in extremely handy for those longer-range gunfights. The Reflex Sight on top of that will give you a clearer picture and further increase accuracy.

Extended Mag on the magazine is also another important attachment because since this is an SMG, the damage falloff at longer ranges is severe compared to assault rifles, which require you to hit more bullets to kill a target. These extended mags will give you room to miss a few bullets and still ensure you can take down enemies in a single mag.
And lastly, to further improve our recoil control for those longer-range engagements, slap on the Grip Tape which will give you a 15% increase in recoil recovery and a 5% increase in vertical recoil control in exchange for a 5% decrease in ADS Speed.
Secondary and Devices
With this MP5A2 build in XDefiant, you can take engagements close to mid-range while also staying competitive at longer ranges, but you will still need a trusty side weapon.
For me, I went with the D50 pistol, which has high damage per shot and good range. This means that I can finish off any enemy who survived at low health, no matter if they are near or at range. But you can also go for the 93R if you want a backup for close-range fights.
When it comes to the device, you can go with pretty much anything that suits your playstyle. I recommend sticking to the classic Frag Grenade, as it will work in most, if not all, situations.
