The second act in Destiny 2: Heresy, aptly titled Court of Blades, is finally here and brings a ton of new content with it. A new catalyst for the very capable Barrow Dyad Exotic SMG is among its highlights, although getting your hands on it might be easier said than done.
Fret not, we’re here to help. Dive in to learn more about the High Impact Reserves Catalyst for your Barrow Dyad and where to find it.
Where To Find The Barrow Dyad

Both the Barrow Dyad and High Impact Reserves catalyst can be found in The Nether, a new region within the Dreadnought that was introduced in Destiny 2: Heresy. The Barrow Dyad is one of the most powerful Strand-based weapons your Guardian can equip, making it worthwhile to chase down despite a convoluted series of steps needed to get your hands on it.
- Unlock “The Taken Path” Exotic Quest in the Nether by trying to spawn into either the Hall of Souls or the Trenchways and finding a Nether Blight to interact with to enter the Blighted Cyst.
- Solve the Rune Puzzle by standing on the plate with an arrow until you hear a voice telling you that “something whispers to your (direction of the arrow)”, shooting the rune and moving in the direction of the arrow.
- Obtain the Taken Osseus Fragment and bring it back to the Shaping Slab in Eris’ Apartment to pick up and complete The Taken Path quest.
We recommend completing “Derealize” and “Dyadic Ascension” as well to unlock the Barrow Dyad’s true potential.
Where To Find The High Impact Reserves Catalyst In Destiny 2: Heresy

The High Impact Reserves catalyst is the first one of four new catalysts to appear in Destiny 2: Heresy. This capable catalyst provides a major buff to the Barrow Dyad’s damage output as you deplete your ammo reserves, making it a worthy addition to an already powerful weapon.
Getting to it requires you to fulfill a few conditions, which we’ve listed below:
- Complete an Expert version of the Court of Blades activity using the Barrow Dyad to obtain the “Sharp Osseus Spine” Exotic quest.
- Trade in the quest for “A Needle’s Path” at the Shaping Slab in Eris’s Apartment.
- Next, get your reputation in Path of Resolve to Level 12. Wear episodic armor to speed up your progression and obtain the Moment of Clarity upgrade.
- You will need to go through the Court of Blades activity on Expert difficulty once more. However, you are permitted to use only precision weapons, which include Sniper Rifles, Scout Rifles, and Linear Fusion Rifles. The Barrow Dyad must also be equipped in your arsenal as you complete this step.
- Upon completion, the High Impact Reserves Catalyst for the Barrow Dyad can be found in the activity’s final chest. Simply head on over to The Enclave and reshape your weapon with the New Catalyst.
While there are more Catalysts for the Barrow Dyad reportedly on their way, the High Impact Reserves Catalyst is the only one you can currently equip as Destiny 2: Heresy continues to release new content over its duration.
