Hysilens is a 5-Star Physical Nihility character introduced to Honkai: Star Rail alongside the version 3.5 update. She is a very powerful unit as Hysilens helps to resurrect the DoT meta that has been absent from the game ever since the first year of the game.
Hysilens will work with units like Kafka, Black Swan, Serval, and several other top-tier characters who rely on DoT to deal damage to enemies. The good part is that being a Nihility character, she will be easy to build and play. When you combine Hysilens with the newly buffed Kafka from version 3.4, you’ll be able to clear all endgame content with ease by using DoT as your primary source of damage.
Best Build for Hysilens in Honkai: Star Rail

Hysilens might be the savior of DoT in Honkai: Star Rail, but she is a fully fledged DPS unit who will deal high damage alongside Kafka in the team. As such, you will need her best Light Cone while also focusing on optimizing her stats. The best build for Hysilens that you can set up in the game is given below:
Elements | Build |
---|---|
Light Cone | Why Does the Ocean Sing |
Relic Set | Prisoner in Deep Confinement |
Ornament Set | Revelry By the Sea |
Body | Effect Hit Rate |
Feet | SPD |
Sphere | Physical DMG Bonus |
Rope | ATK% |
Sub Stats | Effect Hit Rate, SPD, ATK%, Flat ATK |
In terms of ATK, you should aim for around 3500 during combat for Hysilens. You don’t need Crit DMG or Crit Rate since DoT does not rely on those stats. Finally, try to hit about 129 SPD if you are using her signature Light Cone, or 135 SPD without the Light Cone. In both cases, Hysilen’s SPD must be higher than Kafka’s.
Best Light Cones For Hysilens in Honkai: Star Rail

The best Light Cone for Hysilens is Why Does the Ocean Sing, as it synergizes well with her kit and consists of buffs that optimize her damage output. If you don’t want to use the signature Light Cone, you can go with Reforged Remembrance, which is a good alternative. Additionally, Those Many Springs is also a good alternative for Hysilens in the Light Cone department.
Light Cone | Synergy with Hysilens |
---|---|
Why Does the Ocean Sing | This Light Cone buffs Hysilens’ Effect Hit Rate by 40%. Additionally, it triggers an effect called Enthrallment. Under this effect, the DoT damage taken by the enemy is increased. It also buffs the SPD of the equipped character. |
Reforged Remembrance | This Light Cone also increases the Effect Hit Rate of the wearer up to a maximum of 60%. Additionally, whenever the enemy is inflicted by some form of DoT effect, it increases the ATK of the wearer and ignores the DEF of the enemy. |
Those Many Springs | This Light Cone increases the Effect Hit Rate of the wearer by a maximum of 100%. Upon using their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate ability, it increases the DMG dealt by the equipped character upto 2 turns. If the enemy is inflicted by DoT, there is a 60% chance to further increase the damage received by the target. |
If you simply go by buffs provided, all three Light Cones are good for Hysilens. However, Why Does the Ocean Sing and Reforged Remembrance provide guaranteed buffs. On the other hand, Those Many Springs has a chance to provide the extra damage boost. As such, you should consider focusing on the first two if possible, as the damage from Hysilens will be much higher.
Best Relic and Ornament Set for Hysilens in Honkai: Star Rail

The best Relic Set for Hysilens is Prisoner in Deep Confinement, and the best Ornament Set for her is Revelry by the Sea. Since Hysilens is a DoT unit, you need Relics and Ornaments that can either increase ATK or increase the damage output from DoT effects. Additionally, if you can boost some SPD for her, she will benefit a lot, though you’ll have to rely on sub-stats for that.
Relic Set
Prisoner in Deep Confinement increases the ATK of the wearer and also reduces the DoT resistance of enemies. This Relic Set will not only be good on Hysilens, but you can also use it on other characters, such as Kafka and Black Swan, due to the perfect synergy.
Set Piece | Set Bonus |
---|---|
2-pc | Increase ATK by 12% |
4-pc | Every time the enemy is inflicted by DoT, their resistance is reduced by 6%, and it can work for a maximum of three times. |
Based on the four-piece bonus, you are advised to run three DoT characters in the team. If you already have Kafka and Black Swan, chances are you have farmed for this Relic Set quite a bit, so make sure to look into your inventory before farming again. If not, the stats are easy to obtain since you only need Effect Hit Rate, ATK%, and SPD, which means you should be able to get Hysilens ready very quickly.
Ornament Set
Revelry by the Sea is a perfect Ornament Set for Hysilens, but it’s also quite conditional. This is because it relies on the equipped character reaching certain ATK values before the buffs are triggered. If you’re struggling to reach the recommended stats, you can also use Firmament Frontline Glamoth.
Set Piece | Set Bonus |
---|---|
Revelry By the Sea (2-pc) | The ATK of the wearer is increased by 12%. If the wearer’s ATK crosses 2400/3600 ATK, DoT damage dealt is increased by 12%/24% |
If you’re struggling to hit the 3600 mark, you can switch the SPD boots for ATK% and that should do the trick. If you stack up enough ATK% through sub-stats, you shouldn’t have any issues either. The only condition is that you must use a 5-star Light Cone since they come with a very high base attack.
Hysilens Overview and Kit Explained in Honkai: Star Rail

Hysilens is a very strong unit, but she is restricted to DoT teams, as you need characters like Kafka or Black Swan to trigger her buffs. In addition to that, her Relics and Light Cone also need consistent DoT application to maximize her damage. However, once you have the right setup, she is clearly one of the strongest characters in the game. As such, before moving on to her kit, here’s a brief overview of the character.
Specifications | Description |
---|---|
Rarity | 5-Star |
Element | Physical |
Overall Rating | S |
MoC Rating | SS |
Pure Fiction Rating | SS |
Apocalyptic Shadow Rating | SS |
Hysilens kit relies on her Basic Attack, Ultimate, and Skill, where she is able to inflict DoT status onto enemies. Apart from that, whenever she uses her Skill, she deals AoE damage and increases the damage taken by enemies. This means, if you can inflict further DoT onto enemies alongside the likes of Kafka and Black Swan, the overall damage of the team will skyrocket.
Whenever Hysilen uses her Ultimate ability, she creates a zone where she is able to deal massive damage to enemies. In addition to that, every enemy inside the zone has their DEF reduced, and they take additional Physical damage from Hysilen herself. While this zone doesn’t help other characters in terms of DoT triggers, the DEF shred helps in increasing the overall team damage in Honkai: Star Rail.
