One of the most exciting new features players have been waiting for is how Swimming works in inZOI, and it’s more detailed than a simple splash in the pool. Swimming is tied to skills, energy, and even risks, making it an activity that blends fun with strategy.
Just like when you play PEAK alone, you need to pace yourself and prepare when swimming solo in InZOI. Whether you choose to paddle in the pool or explore the open ocean, there’s a lot more happening beneath the surface.
inZOI: How Swimming Works

Zois can now swim both in Swimming Pools and Offshore areas of the Ocean, all thanks to the update. Players can either point-and-click on any part of the pool to send their Zoi swimming or take full control with WASD movement on their keyboard. Holding down Shift switches them into freestyle mode for faster strokes. A new swimming skill appears above their head as they practice, showing progress in real time.
Zois can also jump into pools, use swimwear, or even float around with tubes by selecting the tubing option. Children Zois aren’t left out either; they can swim just like adults, though their ability is marked by a different skill called Aquatic Adaptability. They can also use the pool tubes, making it easier for them to stay safe while practicing.
Players can mark different sections of the pool, hit Go, and watch their Zoi swim to that point. Along the way, there are playful interactions like Practice Holding Breath or even Dance in Water, adding more life to these sessions.
Managing Energy and Vitality
You can swim in inZOI and have fun without a care in the world. However, there are consequences if you are too aggressive with your Zoi if you are swimming for long periods. Long periods in the water can cause Zoi’s wound to drop in body temperature and vitality. If your Zoi swims for approximately three in-game hours without a break, they will drown.
Once your Zoi has lost vitality, then freestyle swimming becomes sluggish and unresponsive. That’s when you will want to take your Zoi out for a break, recharge before it becomes dangerous.
Can You Explore While Snorkeling?

Beyond pools, Zois can head into the ocean for Snorkeling, unlocking a deeper layer of gameplay. This feature lets them interact with marine life and stumble upon unexpected collectibles. Movement is limited to specific snorkeling zones, but it still opens up new areas to explore. They come with skill levels:
- Practice Mode – a safe way to start out.
- Beginner Mode – Zois deep-dive underwater for the first time.
- Intermediate Mode – It is unlocked once they reach level 3 in Swimming, letting them stay submerged longer and dive deeper than beginners.
There are more modes which unlocks later as you progress in the game. You can also equip snorkeling gear, which extends their time underwater and improves swimming efficiency. These are just a few things that came with the new event in inZOI.
Snorkeling isn’t risk-free in inZOI, as getting too close to sharks can be fatal, with Zois meeting an abrupt end in a shark attack if players aren’t careful. It’s a tense mechanic that makes inZOI stand out among some of the best games you could be playing right now.
