Ready or Not is a tactical first-person shooter with a default squad size of five. This is constant whether you are playing solo or co-op, the rest of the squad being filled by bots in the former case.
However, you can remove the limit with the power of modding and add more players in Ready or Not. Here’s how.
How To Use The In Game Menu Mod To Add More Players In Ready Or Not
The In Game Menu mod by RareKiwi lets you add up to 16 players to your Ready or Not lobby. However, the mod has a few more functionalities on top of this.
To install the mod:
- Download the archive from Nexusmods and extract the file to the following location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Content\Paks
. If you have installed the game on a different drive, navigate to it accordingly. - Once that’s done, you can run the game as usual and double-tap the DeployMenu key (default M) to open the in-game mod interface.
- Then, navigate to the Settings tab and select In-Game Menu to access a menu with various options, including Player Limit and Player Count Max.
- Adjust both settings to your desired number and close the mod window.
This should enable more players to join the server, although it’s worth noting that this mod supports a maximum of 16 players per session.

The mod is designed to function even if only the host has it installed. However, if you encounter difficulties accommodating more than five people in a single lobby, I have had success with other players in the lobby also installing the mod on their systems.
If the mod still doesn’t function correctly, consider disabling the server-side checksum option in the Gameplay section of the Options menu.
With all said and done, it’s best to bear in mind that the game is specifically intended for five players, and exceeding this limit significantly impacts the curated experience. Conversely, you have the option to install additional mods that introduce larger maps or increase the total suspect count, thereby balancing out the additional SWAT officers in the team.
