A Strange Warning is where the real combat begins in Grounded 2. This high-stakes arena trial locks your story progress until you complete it. It shows up right after The Art of War, and if you pull through, you’ll unlock the Resource Finder, an essential tool for tracking materials later in the game.
Unlike the earlier, more forgiving missions, this one seriously limits your movement and punishes mistakes. You can’t just restart immediately either. So, here is how you can go in well-prepared.

In this quest, you’ll be trapped inside a small arena with your buggy. Once you enter the marked circle, there’s no turning back. The ring seals quickly, and if you’re knocked out or exit the buggy, the mission fails. Worse, it won’t reset for another two in-game days. So yes, you have to beat it, there’s no way around.
Before starting the quest, make sure your buggy is fueled and repaired. Use weapons with fast recovery times that can hit multiple enemies at once. Ranged weapons can support you early on, but they won’t be enough once the swarm closes in.
All Bug Waves Breakdown and Combat Tactics
There are three Bug waves, each more intense than the last. The arena is tight, so sharp turns and constant movement are key to survival. In Wave 1, it’s just Worker Ants and Lawn Mites. Nothing too crazy yet. Just drive wide around the edge and try running through bunches when they clump.
If they start sticking to your buggy, stop for a sec and swat ’em off with something quick like a melee weapon. Don’t sit still too long.

Wave 2 is where Soldier Ants show up along with more Workers. These ones are tankier and they hit harder, so it’s more dangerous. Don’t let them box you in, keep moving fast and don’t let yourself get surrounded. Drive through, loop around, and repeat. Corners are bad news.
The last wave has a Wolf Spider and some Fire Ants. This is where things get really messy. The spider’s lunge throws you way off, and Fire Ants swarm if you hesitate. You’ve gotta bait the spider’s leap and go in only after. Keep your buggy mobile and don’t let yourself slow down when things start stacking up.

If you lose, the masked Stranger just vanishes. The mission gets locked for two days in-game, and there’s literally no way to keep going unless you beat it.
Once you survive all the waves, Sloane shows up and gives you the Resource Finder. It’s what you’ll need to track materials across the map from that point on. Basically, move smart, swing fast, and never stop driving. That’s the only way through A Strange Warning quest.
