Vasco is the robot companion that people can befriend in Starfield. As a companion following you on your journey around Star Systems, Vasco has the ability to both store items safely and protect you when situations are dire.
Although Vasco can equip a gun for protection, it seems like for some players, this companion may not be shooting and defending as needed. If you’re also experiencing this issue and need some help figuring out how to solve it, then this article is exactly what you need.
How To Make Vasco Shoot In Starfield
If Vasco isn’t shooting his gun and only using his punch action, then here are some possible fixes that can resolve this issue:
- 3KV LRZ Cartridge – You need to place quite a good amount of this ammo in Vasco’s inventory for him to shoot his gun in the game. You should also equip Vasco’s weapon to make sure he uses it properly.
- 1.5KV LRZ Cartridge – You can also try giving Vasco 100 1.5KV LRZ Cartridge ammo to use in his gun and equip the weapon. Making sure he has enough ammo is important so that he doesn’t run out in the middle of a fight.
- Change Companion – If Vasco is still passive, you can quickly shuffle out the companions and appoint someone else in the meantime. You can assign Vasco back after you have completed a side quest with other companions in Starfield.
- Full Restart – If your Vasco still seems to be doing nothing, you might just have to close out your game and even restart your PC or console. A full restart might fix this issue for you and you can go back to your game as soon as possible.
