The recently launched HoYoverse game Zenless Zen Zero (ZZZ) is making waves among gamers for its beautiful graphics, fluid combat, and in-depth Gacha system. While the wide variety of currencies in the game can make it hard to keep track of things, once you learn the core mechanics, everything starts to fall into place.
In this guide, we’ll delve into Fading Signals, an important currency you need to know about, and discuss how to get and use them. Let’s get started.
How to Get Fading Signal in Zenless Zone Zero
To get Fading Signals in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), you need to do Signal Searches in any of the available channels. Signal Search is the Gacha system in the game. There are currently four active Signal Search Banners in the game, with more to come in the future:
- Ellen Banner
- W-Engine Banner
- Bangboo Banner
- Standard Banner
Playing each Signal Search will give you a certain amount of Fading Signal and Residual Signal to use.
How to Use Fading Signal in Zenless Zone Zero
You can use Fading Signal in ZZZ to purchase items from the Fading Signal section of the Signal Shop. This includes things like Master Tape, Encrypted Master Tape, Burn Chips, Ether Chips, Dennies, and more.

The only difference between this shop and the Residual Signal Shop is that the amount of Master Tape, Encrypted Master Tape, or other upgrade materials you can buy isn’t unlimited. You can only buy a certain number, which will reset as you enter a new month.
We recommend buying out the Tapes each month. Since the other character items or W-Engine Upgrades can be earned through in-game activities, it makes no sense to spend your hard-earned Fading signals on these items.
