As you start establishing various means to get your essential resources in Manor Lords, you will soon come to realize that simply having one source for resources like food isn’t enough. While this works for the beginning of the game, what you need to level up your families and Burgage Plots is variety, especially with food. This can be easily achieved by getting Eggs to be produced in your settlement in Manor Lords.
Making Eggs in Manor Lords
To make Eggs in Manor Lords, build a Burgage Plot big enough for a backyard extension and add the Chicken Coop extension to it which costs 25 coins from Regional Wealth. The family living in that Burgage Plot will now take care of chickens and supply their Eggs to the settlement. Make sure there is a Granery in your settlement to store it.
For the best results, you should have multiple Burgage Plots with a Chicken Coop extension ensuring Eggs are always available on the Market. This is by far the easiest method to add food variety to your market, especially in the early stages of your settlement.
The best part about the Chicken Coop backyard extension is that it does not convert the families living in it into Artisans, meaning they can still be assigned to a job while taking care of the chickens at their house at the same time.
If you already have a steady supply of Berries, Meat, or Vegetables, Having eggs will greatly increase the variety and ensure at least two to three types of food items are being provided to the households in your settlement.
If you would rather use your backyard extensions for other things, you can also import Eggs via the Trading Post after establishing a route for it. However, this will cost you regional wealth and you will need to make sure you are gaining profit from exporting certain valuable items before you start importing a steady supply of Eggs.
I found that it’s best to produce Eggs in my own settlement despite the requirement of using up the backyard extensions on some of my Burgage Plots. As it turns out, you do not need that many to create a constant supply and you will only need to keep adding one Chicken coop once in a while as your town grows to maintain the supply.
