You can only get Fibre Optic Cable in Abiotic Factor by trading Solder with the Blacksmith in the Forge area of Manufacturing West. The trade is straightforward: place your Solder into the box in front of him, and he’ll give you one Fibre Optic Cable for each piece.

All of these come from the same NPC, the Blacksmith, and are required to unlock Cascade Laboratories, the next area of the game.

- GATE NVGs: Night vision goggles made from four Fibre Optic Cables and additional rare parts.
- Healing Briefcase: A deployable healing item that uses one Fibre Optic Cable, useful during tougher encounters.

How to craft Solder for the trade
To craft Solder, you need a few ingredients. Here’s what you need:
- Materials: A Cooking Pot, Silver Scrap, and Metal Scrap.
- Prepare Water: Fill the Cooking Pot with clean water and place it on a portable stove.
- Combine and Cook: Add the Silver Scrap and Metal Scrap to the pot. After cooking, you’ll end up with a Pot of Solder.
- Collect Output: From one pot, you can scoop out four pieces of Solder.
