If you’ve ever wanted to go beyond the default four-player limit, you can actually include more players in PEAK (up to 20 if you have a large group of friends). However, it’s important to note that adding too many players to one lobby can lead to instability, particularly on weaker PCs.
Playing with 20 players is a lot like solo gameplay, you should try at least once. To get more players in PEAK, you’ll need to set up a small modification, but the process is surprisingly simple, and only the host needs to do it. This makes it easy for everyone else to join without any extra steps.
PEAK: How to Get More Players

The whole setup revolves around installing a mod called Peak Unlimited. To start, you’ll want to get the BepInEx, which is the tool that makes mods run in PEAK. Here is how the process works:
- After downloading it, head to your Steam library, right-click on PEAK, go to Manage > Browse Local Files, and drop everything from the BepInEx folder into that PEAK directory. Launch the game once and close it right away (this step ensures BepInEx initializes properly).
- Next, download the Peak Unlimited mod itself. You’ll find a .DLL file inside the download. Pull that file onto your desktop for now, then dive back into your PEAK game folder. Inside the BepInEx folder, there’s a plugins folder. Drop the .DLL file in there.
Now when you boot up PEAK, you’ll see the option to bring in more than the standard four players. If you’re hosting, you can invite as many friends as you’d like (though we would recommend keeping it under 15 to avoid crash issues if you have a mid-range PC).
Tweaking Settings For Bigger Groups

Here’s where it gets even better: you can fine-tune how the game behaves with extra players. Inside the same BepInEx folder, look for a config folder and open the PeakUnlimited.cfg file. From there, you can adjust how many players the lobby allows.
You can also toggle whether the game spawns extra marshmallows for the bigger crowd, or keep things lean by switching it off. Just save your edits, close the file, and you’re set. Of course, the more people you bring in, the greater the strain on performance. Some lobbies run smoothly with 10, while others start chugging the moment you push past 12. It’s all about experimenting with what your setup can handle.
Inviting a large group of friends completely transforms the atmosphere of PEAK. What used to be an intimate four-player experience can quickly turn into a lively, chaotic party filled with laughter. Just be prepared for things to get a bit messy as more players join in.
