Crafting and modifying your weapons and armor can be crucial for surviving the desolate wastelands of Fallout 76. Amongst these crafting ingredients, Screws are the rarer ones you can obtain in the game. These screws generally do not spawn on their own but rather can be gathered by either killing monsters or scraping other items. So, locating these scrap items can be a hassle especially if you’re unaware of the right locations.

Getting Screws In Fallout 76
You can get screws in Fallout 76 by looting the bodies of Wendigos and super mutants, scraping items, or buying them from the vendor. Here are the details regarding each choice:
Wendigos and Super Mutants
You can usually search the bodies of dead Wendigos and Super Mutants to get at least 2-3 screws. Wendigos can be found lurking around Freddy’s House of Scares and the Wendigo Cave in Savage Divide.
On the other hand, the Super Mutants are more common in the West Tek facility and around that region. You can always load a different server and try to farm the same locations for a chance to get more screws. Just make sure to not take damage and you’ll be good to go.
Note: Any Wendigo variation can have screws in the creature’s body. You just have to loot them all once they are down.

Purchase from Vendors
You can also exchange caps for Screws from the Vendor located at the Charleston Fire Department. To purchase the screws simply go up to the vendor access his inventory and see what he has to offer.
Another vendor can be found inside the Whitespring Mall selling 10 screws for 230 caps. The Protectron near the Creekside Lodge also sells Screws while Friedrich from the Artisan’s Corner sometimes has this item for sale as well.
However, if you’re running low on caps and want to save up for special items, I’d suggest you go the farming route and scrap items or hunt wendigos for these resources in Fallout 76. Meanwhile, you can check out the guide on How to get Rubber in Fallout 76 as well
