In order to unlock the Explorer Archetype, you will need to beat the game in its entirety at least once and get the Broken Compass item. This means defeating the final boss of the campaign, known as Annihilation.
After this, you can start a new playthrough of the game and use your new Explorer archetype. This new archetype can be a fun new way to experience the game again with skills that help you go through the levels more quickly.
Below are step-by-step instructions on how to unlock the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2:
- Complete a full playthrough of the game using any archetype of your choice.
- Get the Broken Compass by defeating the final campaign boss Annihilation.
- Collect 1000x Scrap and 10x Lumenite Crystals if you don’t already have them.
- Head back to Ward 13 and talk with Wallace.
- Here you will have an option to craft the Golden Compass using the broken compass and the extra materials from step 3.
- Crafting this Golden Compass Engram will now unlock the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2.
How to unlock and use the Treasure Hunter Skill for Explorer Archetype
The Explorer Archetype has a treasure hunter skill called the Fortune Hunter that can be unlocked by reaching character level 10. This skill allows you to reveal lootable special items around your vicinity for up to 40m for both you and your allies. It lasts for 60 seconds, after which it goes into a cooldown for 88.2 seconds.
This skill can be highly useful, especially for a second playthrough as it will be much easier to find all the hidden special items without having to waste too much time exploring the levels. This skill really shows why the Explorer Archetype in Remnant 2 is worth unlocking and playing a second playthrough with.
