Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 has many magical places and one of them is the Sourcerous Vault. Full of magical artifacts, the vault is found in the Sorcerous Sundries building. Navigating the area can be difficult for the uninitiated, so I’m going to break down how you can fully navigate the Sorcerous Vault in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How To Solve The Sorcerous Vault In Baldur’s Gate 3
Upon reaching Act 3 and reaching the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate, head on over to Sorcerous Sundries. This is located right in the center of the Lower City, as seen in the map screenshot below. Once you reach there, you have two access points to the Sorcerous Vault.
- The first one is through Ramazith’s Tower from Sorcerous Sundries
- The second is through the front door of Sorcerous Sundries
Ramazith’s Tower Access From Sorcerous Sundries
Most players prefer to take this route. Although it is a little longer, it provides you access to The Red Knight’s Final Stratagem which is a Legendary Book along with a whole host of other items. To access the Vault through Ramazith’s Tower, make your way to Sorceror Sundries and move up the stairs. Once you are there, speak with Lorroakan‘s projection.

This will trigger four portals, select the Blue One on the far left. This will take you to Lorroakan’s location. Engaging in conversation with the wizard is also crucial for the Nightsong questline so proceed carefully. Next, enter through the blue portal and make your way towards the glowing furniture. Jump down to the floor below with the “Weave Buttons” option. There are four buttons; they have the following uses.
- Artillery – fires a fireball
- Below – Teleports you to the bottom floor which has the Cloak of the Weave and the Markoheshkir Quarterstaff
- Vault – Teleports you to the Sorcerous Vault
- Security – Activates the Arcane Cannons
- Cleanup – Cloudkill traps are activated with this button
Select Vault and you will be transported into the Sorcerous Vault.
Sorcerous Vault Access Through Sorcerous Sundries
To enter via the store, head on over to the second floor and find a locked door beside the portal that goes to Ramazith’s Tower. Unlock it, enter the room, and look for a Clasped Book. You can find this Clasped Book on a bookshelf. Interact with it and you will have access to the Sorcerous Vault.

Navigating The Sorcerous Vault
Once you enter the Vault, there are plenty of things you could loot. Navigate every possible nook and cranny because there are plenty of useful items in there. Every room has tons of traps but there is a lever in each room that deactivates the traps so be on the lookout for those. You will find a room with a portal and beyond it, you will find a door labeled ‘Ramazith’ which will grant you access to the main vaults that Sorcerous Vault has to offer.
Once you step inside, be aware of the traps. There are three doors here, Silverhand, Karsus, and Elminster. Elminster and Karsus will be locked by default. That being said, let us take a look at how you can unlock both of those doors.
How To Open Elminster Door In Sorcerous Vault
To open the Elminster Door, go through all of these doors in the order I have specified below:
- First, open the Silverhand Door
- Then, go through the Evocation Door
- Make your way over to the Wish Door which is behind you and pull the lever
- Next, choose any door that is going to take you back to the original room where you started, You can now open the Elminster Door.
Go through the Elminster Door and find any treasure you can. Make sure to read the Necromancy of Thay.
How To Open Karsus Door In Sorcerous Vault
Again, follow the steps below to open the Karsus Door.
- Open the Silverhand Door
- Venture through the Abjuration Door
- Next, go to the Silver Door behind you and pull the lever
- Go through any door to take you back to the starting room. This opens access to the Karsus Door
Once you go through the Karsus Door, loot anything you can find to finish the Sorcerous Vault.
