Thorn Shield is one of the best skills for defense in Last Epoch. This effective skill does not only give an armor bonus, it also reflects damage to attackers. But, autocasting your Thorn Shield during fights can be challenging if you’re not a veteran of this game.
How Do I Use Thorn Shield In Last Epoch?
To use Thorn Shield in Last Epoch, make sure you have this skill unlocked in the Skill Tree and then auto-cast it using the specific key bind it is assigned to. You can assign the key bind to a num key and then press and hold that key to start casting.
After that, you need to press Num Lock to release your held key. This trick will make Thorn Shield auto cast and you do not have to hold down the key to fight in battle. Since this skill provides a substantially effective shield, you will be able to fight without taking much damage.
Just make sure to build into the armor bonus it provides and unlock skills in the Thorn Shield branch to make it more effective. You can also unlock Ice Thorns which casts a barrier of ice shards around while fighting.

Thorn Shield forms a barrier of thorns around your character when you are fighting enemies. Its stats include:

- Critical Multiplier: 200%
- Scaling Increase: 4% Damage Increase
If the shield expires, it will burst and send out a bunch of thorns in all directions. The flying thorns will damage anything in the vicinity which also helps if you’re surrounded by enemies.
