Many video games have the option of enabling and disabling censorship when it comes to graphic imagery. But not all games share the same sentiment which stands true for Cygames’ latest RPG Granblue Fantasy Relink. Adapted from a mobile JRPG, Relink seems to be in hot waters recently amidst game censoring allegations.
Does Granblue Fantasy Relink Have Censorship?
Yes, Granblue Fantasy Relink does have censorship. The game seems to be censoring the outfits for some of the female characters. In a Steam Community Page discussion, a user named Shylaar points out how the game has censored only the playable female characters.
Side-by-side image comparisons for characters Zeta, Djeeta, and Ferry reveal that the original Granblue JRPG featured more revealing outfits for the characters whereas Relink seems to have taken a ‘safer’ route. This censorship is only valid for playable female characters as the game does not censor the male crewmates or any other female NPCs present in the town.

This unnecessary censorship has sparked a huge debate amongst players looking forward to the game. Some have even refused to buy Granblue Fantasy Relink until and unless the game devs decide to either remove the censorship completely or provide the option of toggling them on or off.
We will have to wait and see if the devs comply with the protests or if a modpack can modify the outfits and even add more wardrobe options for the crewmates.
