Honkai Nexus Anima is a new addition to HoYoverse’s existing list of games, this time in the form of a Pokémon Go and Teamfight Tactics lookalike. This game is part of the Honkai Universe, where characters like Blade and Kiana are part of the roster.
The real question surrounding the game is whether Honkai Nexus Anima will be a gacha game or not. This is because every past HoYoverse title is a gacha game, and despite their popularity, the gacha aspect drives away people from getting involved in games like Genshin Impact.
Will Honkai Nexus Anima Be A Gacha Game?

Yes, Honkai Nexus Anima will be a gacha game, and it’s not at all surprising. This is because HoYoverse has built its entire reputation through gacha, including games like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and Honkai Impact 3. It has been a highly successful model so far, as all of HoYoverse’s games generate millions of dollars in revenue on a monthly basis.
As such, it’s not at all surprising that Honkai Nexus Anima will follow a similar model to HoYoverse’s other titles. Honkai Nexus Anima will receive a Closed Beta, which you can participate in to get a glimpse of what the game has to offer. Based on the trailer, it does look a lot less serious than Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail. However, HoYoverse is known to keep things light and breezy in the early stages and completely flip the switch with heavy emotional settings as their games progress.
What Does Gacha Mean In Honkai Nexus Anima

Honkai Nexus Anima will have certain creatures called Anima, which you can use to either fight or take part in various activities. While it’s tough to say anything yet since the game isn’t playable, the Anima will probably be involved in the gacha aspect. The better Anima you pull, the stronger you will become, and the higher your chances will be to clear challenges. They will probably feature builds as well, similar to Ineffa’s best build from Genshin Impact.
You can think of these Anima as Pokémon, though the gameplay won’t feature 1v1 combat. Instead, it will be like autochess, similar to Teamfight Tactics, where a group of Anima will be fighting. You will have to make strategies on what kind of Anima you should be picking for a fight, which will give you advantages in battle. Similar to every other HoYoverse game, the Anima will probably be distinguished by their elements, roles, and abilities.
How Do The Gacha Mechanics Work In Honkai Nexus Anima

HoYoverse has been quite consistent with their gacha economy, where you need 160 of the currency to pull for a character. Additionally, HoYoverse always has two different pulls, one for the standard banner and the second one for the limited banner.
The names of the varying wishes are unknown as of now. It will probably become known once the Closed Beta of Honkai Nexus Anima becomes available. The Anima or the Pokémon-type creatures will be the units that you’ll have to pull in Honkai Nexus Anima.
