Many fans are wondering whether Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is a part of the Arkham series. After all, these games have been created by the same developer, Rocksteady Studios. Does this game take place in a whole new universe or does it connect canonically to the Arkhamverse?
SPOILER ALERT: Some spoilers for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League ahead.
Is Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League Set In The Arkhamverse?
Yes, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is a Batman Arkham series spin-off that takes place in Rocksteady’s popular Arkhamverse. The game’s events take place roughly five years after the last Batman Arkhamverse game, i.e. Batman: Arkham Knight. While the developer hasn’t officially confirmed this, there are several not-so-subtle indicators in the new game.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League contains references to the previous Arkham games. The events are referenced through several dialogues between the members of Task Force X, as well as certain world-building elements. Many revelations come from Harley Quinn, who is now a completely changed person after Mr. J’s death. But she still acknowledges events that took place during the previous Arkham games.
The game also features some characters that were part of the Arkham series. These include The Penguin, The Riddler, and Officer Aaron Cash. Kill The Justice League also features a Batman Museum that features many references to events that took place throughout the original Arkham trilogy. These include clear references to several boss fights in the Arkham series, such as an image of Joker’s Titan form, and several Arkham baddies’ paraphernalia.
