Similar to the saying “actions have consequences”, your lies or truths determine Pinocchio’s fate in the Neowiz Games’ latest Soulslike RPG, Lies of P. While confronting Geppetto in Krat, the city engulfed in darkness, your previous actions also decide what Lies of P endings you would get once you reach the end game.
All three endings are heavily dependent on the Lying Mechanic of the game. Answering various questions thrown at you, truthfully or by lying, can lead to the good, the bad, or the true ending. Here are all the instructions you will need to get the desired ending in your own playthrough.
How to Get All Three Lies of P Endings?
After defeating Simon Manus, the Awakened God, you will reach the “Under the Abyss” chapter of the game and face Geppetto. At this point, your choices in all previous chapters of Lies of P will determine which ending you will reach in the game and based on those choices, you must approach Geppetto in certain ways.
Lies of P Ending 1 – Real Boy: They All Lived Happily Ever After
Considered to be the bad or default ending in the game, this ending does not care about whether you choose to tell the truth or lie about the answers, or even make the wrong choice when deciding Sophia’s fate. You will get the Real Boy ending if you hand over Pinocchio’s heart to Geppetto.
This Lies of P ending shows Pinocchio transformed into a real human boy as Geppetto thanks him for returning and addresses him as ‘Carlo’.
You can also get additional achievements by reading a letter on Geppetto’s desk in Hotel Krat and interacting with the piano on the ground floor of the Hotel.
Lies of P Ending 2 – Free from the Puppet String
Considered to be the good/neutral ending in the game, this ending shows Geppetto dying trying to protect P’s heart from being stabbed by the Nameless Puppet. During his final breath, Geppetto calls Pinocchio a “useless puppet” and passes away.
Here are all the choices you need to make to get the Free from the Puppet String ending:
- Tell the Truth at every Lie System event in Lies of P.
- Choose “Let Her Live” as the option when chatting with Sophia at the Ascension Bridge.
- Choose “I Liberated her from the Arche Abbey” during the Simon Manus Arche Abbey scenario.
- Refuse to hand over P’s heart to Geppetto.
Lies of P Ending 3 – Rise of P
Rise of P is supposedly the true ending amongst all three Lies of P endings of the game. While it follows a similar pattern of Geppetto dying; in this playthrough, however, he apologizes to his son, and later we find P handing over his Ergo to Sophia and bringing her back to life.
The choices you need for the true ending:
- Lie at every Lie System event in Lies of P.
- Choose “Give Her Peace” as the option when chatting with Sophia at the Ascension Bridge.
- Defeat Simon Manus at the Arche Abbey scenario.
- Defeat Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood.
- Collect and play all the Records to get the Golden Lie weapon at Hotel Krat (You can also look at the portrait to see its elongated nose due to lying).
- Refuse to hand over P’s heart to Geppetto.
- Defeat the Nameless Puppet.
Remember to collect the Portrait of a Boy from Area V and take it back to Geppetto in Hotel Krat. The portrait can be found in a building belonging to the Black Rabbit Brotherhood near the Malum District Town Hall Stargazer.
You can also get the achievement of “The Story of the Blue Butterfly” by picking up the Blue Butterfly letter from Geppetto’s desk.
The post-credit scene for all three Lies of P endings shows the silhouette of a girl wearing a red dress, and red shoes possibly hinting at Dorothy being the protagonist for an upcoming Neowiz Games sequel.
