Although it follows a linear storyline, progression in Lies of P is heavily dependent on your combat skills in the game. To acquire those combat skills and emerge victorious in every challenge, you need to construct the perfect weapons suited just for you.
From the blades to the handles, each intricate part of your weapon can be replaced and upgraded to surpass the Fable Arts even some boss weapons might lack in the game. If you’re curious about altering your weapons, here’s all the information you will need.
How to Change Weapon Handles in Lies of P?
To change weapon handles, you will first need to progress to Hotel Krat and meet Eugenie. She will be the gateway to all your weapon customizations in the game. Speak to her and a menu showing options like ‘Upgrade Weapon’, ‘Alter Handle’, and ‘Assemble Weapon’ will pop up.
The ‘Assemble Weapon’ option will open the weapon assembling menu where you can replace or change a certain weapon’s handle to another one. But if you’re looking for something more specific, like changing the stat type of your weapon, then altering the handle is the way to go.
Choosing ‘Alter Handle’ will take you to the handle-altering menu where your primary weapon’s handle can be replaced to your specific choice. Altering your Lies of P weapon handle means you are changing the associated stat of the handle. For example, if you want your weapon to be more on the heavy side, you would want the handle to have Motivity.
Very similar to gems in the Dark Souls series, this can be achieved in Lies of P through the usage of cranks. These cranks are what your weapon handle will specialize in. (For example, Motivity Cranks are required for heavy weapons that require strength)
Where to Find Cranks in Lies of P?
Cranks can be found in hidden loot boxes, chests, and mob drops in the game. They can also be purchased from Hotel Krat vendors. Cranks can be used to alter handles to that specific stat. The four types of cranks found are:
- Motivity Crank – Increases the weapon’s Motivity and damage (recommended for greatswords and blunt weapons)
- Technique Crank– Increases the weapon’s technique (recommended for lightweight rapiers or daggers)
- Advance Crank – Increases the weapon’s elemental effect
- Balance Crank – Balances the weapon’s stats
How to Change Weapon Blades in Lies of P?
Blades are what make your primary weapon even more powerful. Think of this as Titanium chunks or slabs if you have played the Souls games.
The right kind will deal heavy damage to enemies and let you win every boss battle. Ideally throughout your playthrough, you will be customizing your blade by assembling different parts, or by upgrading them.
To upgrade your blade, you will need different moonstones to increase their damage potential. The correct moonstone can increase your weapon’s damage up to +10. However, the damage potential for special weapons can only be increased up to +5. You will find moonstones after boss battles and in chests throughout the game.
Keep in mind, that all this altering and upgrading will cost lots of Ergos. So, before spending everything on leveling up, make sure you have the funds to keep up with your blacksmithing ambitions. However, Boss Weapons cannot be customized or dismantled in any way.
