Phase 1 Tactics For The Sundered Monarch Boss Guide
- Get the first blood: When the fight starts, the Sundered Monarch will be kneeling on the ground in the corner of the arena for a few minutes. Take this opportunity to rush him and get some hits in. Be warned though as he will do a Claw Swipe attack or the Fist Slam AoE if you stay around for too long.
- In and out: For this phase of the boss fight, the Sundered Monarch won’t do much of anything but sit idle and attack if you get closer. So for this part, you just need to get close, attack, and then fall back when he tries to hit you. Keep doing this until you enter the second phase, which is the real boss fight.
Phase 2 Tactics For The Sundered Monarch Boss Guide
- Reinvigorated Sundered Monarch: When the second phase starts, the Sundered Monarch won’t just be idle anymore. Now he will be moving around and will also now wield a large stone which is part of a statue. With this weapon, he will do some slow but long-range hitting attacks and even AoE attacks more often than before.
- Stay clear of the arm: Most of his attacks will come from his arm that he grows when entering phase 2. The best tactic here is to stay underneath him which helps you avoid his sweeping attacks. His attacks are all based on going in the forward direction. So, try to stay behind his ankles because this is the safest spot.
- Stagger him with Ranged attacks: The Sundered Monarch is able to be staggered even with ranged attacks and other ammunition as well. Use this to your advantage. When you know he is near to getting staggered but you cannot gain distance, just use ranged attacks instead and close the distance when he is staggered.
- Enraged Monarch: After losing half of his health in phase 2, Sundered Monarch will now be Enraged. This means his attacks are going to build Burn and Ignite status effects. Not only that, but even his AoE attacks will now burn the floor. He will also have burning swords surrounding him which can be avoided if you can get really close to him.
- Take advantage of the dive attack: One of the more crucial tips for this Sundered Monarch boss guide is to exploit his Rock Strike Dive attack. He will be vulnerable for a certain time after he lands the dive. Make sure you take this opportunity every single time he dives as this is the safest time to get hits on him in the second phase.
