For a creative person like me, designing the settlement layouts and placing a building in a specific way to make it look realistic and organic is what I enjoy in Manor Lords. When you create a scenic-looking town, you may want to know how it feels like to walk around it as if you were a citizen yourself.
Manor Lords Visit Mode lets you do exactly that by allowing you to visit your settlement as their ruler and witness your citizens’ everyday lives with a boots-on-ground perspective.
How to use Visit Mode in Manor Lords
To enter Visit Mode in Manor Lords, click on the eye icon below your character portrait in the top right corner of the screen. You will now spawn wherever your camera is in your current settlement. You can move around using the W-A-S-D keys, look around using the mouse, and use the left shift key to run.
However, you can’t interact with anything while you are on foot in your settlement. The most you can do right now is just walk or run around the town to take it in from a whole new perspective.
Keep in mind that this feature is still early in development for the Manor Lords’ early access version. You may encounter bugs and glitches so before attempting to use the Visit Mode, make sure you manually save your game just in case.
Because of how stunningly gorgeous Manor Lords looks graphically, walking as a character on the ground still makes everything look pretty detailed up close. To me, it almost felt like walking around in a medieval town in an RPG game.
There is a different sense of satisfaction in seeing and appreciating your work up close. More city-builders need to give players a similar ability as it makes the effort of creating organic pathways and designs even more worthwhile.
