Best Skills In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 That You Should Unlock First
Since we now have two playable characters in this game, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales have their own skill trees. However, there is also a Shared skill tree that will unlock skills for both Peter and Miles simultaneously. So, we will be showing the best skills to unlock for each separately, as well as the best ones to unlock in the Shared skill tree.
Best Skills For Peter Parker
Peter Parker now gains new abilities in the form of his new Iron Spider Legs and also the new Symbiote Suit. When it comes to the best skills to unlock for Peter in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, these are the ones you should go for first:
Skill | Description |
Spider Rush | Press L1 and the triangle button together to push yourself forward, damaging enemies along the path. |
Spider Shock | Press L1 and the circle button that will shoot out electrified web lines to shock enemies and leave them in a vulnerable attack. |
Symbiote Strike | Press L1 and the triangle button that will launch Spider-Man towards enemies, gathering them up and finally throwing them into the air. |
Symbiote Yank | Press L1 and X together to get hold of several enemies and pull them towards you. |
Surge: Ready to Glow | As soon as you use a full Surge bar, abilities are fully recharged. |
With Peter Parker, the Symbiote Skills are certainly way stronger than any other skills, especially compared to the other side of this skill tree which is all about the Iron Spider legs. Spider-Rush can also be further improved by unlocking several variants of it like Spider Rush: Tornado or Spider Rush: Express Webbing.

Best Skills For Miles Morales
While Peter Parker has new stuff to play with, Miles still works with his venom-charged electric powers but he has learned some flashy new moves that are arguably still much cooler than Peter’s. Here are Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 best skills to unlock first for Miles:
Skill | Description |
Venom Punch: Concentrated Force | This will make Venom Punch through a force in a cone from the primary target, shoving back any enemy caught in it. |
Venom Smash: Jolt | When you use a Venom Smash, press L1 and the circle button again to launch the enemies into the air. |
Chain Lightning: Power Overwhelming | Unlocking this will increase the number of people affected by Chain Lightning from 3 to 6. |
Bio-Siphon | Unlocking this will allow you to recharge your abilities slightly when you attack and hit Venom Stunned enemies. |
Reverse Flux: Boost | If Reverse Flux pulls 4 or more enemies in, as soon as they hit, they will create three lightning bolts that will strike additional targets. |
Miles Morales certainly has some incredibly in-depth skills that work in tandem with each other. With the electric abilities, Miles is a crowd control natural and great for chaining combos easily. Bio-Siphon is an interesting ability but it can be more powerful when you unlock Venom Clouds (requires Bio-Siphon) after it which can heal you without using any heals.
Best Shared Skills
Peter and Miles both have to work together to be even stronger than they can be alone. The shared skills focus on general skills that will make both of them stronger. Here are the best skills to unlock in the Shared skill tree:
Skill | Description |
Wall Thrash | When an enemy is up against a wall, repeatedly press the square button to throw a flurry of blows. |
Directional Yank | Hold the triangle button and then press either L2 or R2 to pull and drag the enemy sideways. You can use this to slam them against objects and structures. |
Heavy Lifting | With this unlocked, you can now throw Brute enemies that have been webbed up, electrified, or Venom Stunned. Directional Yank will also work on them. |
Loop de Loop | While you are diving in NYC, press and hold R2 to “perform a super-kinetic loop maneuver,” which will provide an extra boost of speed. |
Combo Resupply | You will have the possibility of getting a free gadget show when you conclude a 4-hit melee combo. |
