The popular PC game, Darkest Dungeon 2 is finally launching on consoles. The game made its first official landing as an early access version back in October 2021. Later, the complete version of the game was released on May 8, 2023. The incredible fan reception for the roguelike game further motivated Red Hook Studios into translating the game for console versions.
Darkest Dungeon 2 Console Release Date
Darkest Dungeon 2 is landing on consoles on July 15, 2024. The game will be released on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is already available for pre-order. PlayStation Plus members will get an additional 15% discount on Darkest Dungeon II.
The game will be released in two editions: the base game and the Oblivion Edition. The Darkest Dungeon II Oblivion Edition will include The Binding Blade DLC along with the base game.

While the developers have stayed true to their roguelike roots, they have rebuilt the combat system and refined the art style for consoles. Here are some changes expected to take place in the future updates of Darkest Dungeon 2:
- A New Campaign: A new and free stand alone campaign game mode, Kingdoms will be introduced.
- Three New Enemy Factions: The Coven, Crimson Courtiers, and Beastmen are the three new factions that you can fight against.
- Resource Based Hero Upgrades: A new upgrade system will let you customize and strengthen your heroes using in-game resources.
With more perfected gameplay and detailed origin stories, the console version of Darkest Dungeon II is creating tremendous hype ahead of its release.
