Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a game of choices where every dialogue you select or decision you make has an impact on your future in the game. Some of these decisions lead to new areas, while others open up secret bosses that alter the course of your destiny.
One such selection that you’ll come across in the game is to either Follow the Course of Destiny or Challenge the Threads of Fate in Hillswatch. Both of these decisions have their consequences, and here’s a guide to what happens if you select either of them.
Should you Follow the Course of Destiny or Challenge the Threads of Fate in Wuchang?
You should select Challenge the Threads of Fate as you get access to items that you cannot obtain any other way, while selecting Follow the Course of Destiny takes you to a location that you can reach in a different way. So, you won’t really miss anything at all on selecting the Threads of Fate option
Let me explain what exactly happens when you select each of the two options.
Follow the Course of Destiny
If you select this option, you will be teleported to a scaffolding area after getting enveloped by a black fog. If you explore the area a bit in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, you’ll eventually make your way to Mort Grotto Shrine.
This is not a hidden area by any means, as you can reach here from Hillswatch. All you have to do is make your way to the Snowy Passage Shrine and keep following the path forward, and you’ll eventually end up in Mort Grotto Shrine.
There are no bosses or NPCs in this location, but you’ll come across a variety of items that you can collect. While none of the items have any significance to the story, you do get access to the Overseer Armor Set from the Mort Grotto Shrine.

Challenge the Threads of Fate
If you select this option, the door will open up and you will once again end up in the same mine that you must have come across while going through Cloudspire. However, this area of the mine that you gain access to from the door is hidden.
As of writing this article, there are no other options to gain access to this area apart from selecting Challenge the Threads of Fate. Additionally, you will also come across the following items:
- Bridal Veil
- Bridal Corset
- Bridal Shackles
- Bridal Dress
- Kong Wine x1
This is a pretty good-looking armor set, though it doesn’t offer any specific stats that will assist you in battle. If you’re someone who’s looking for armor that can tank hits from bosses, this won’t help you in any way.
